Good job, Colleen! Such important information for Doodle owners! The only other thing I'd add (as a NCMG groomer), is that bathing a dog often (even weekly or more!) will NOT dry out the dog's skin if bathed *correctly* and a good conditioner applied each time. Thanks for making the video!

In addition to shedding, it’s worth mentioning the dander. We have a Westie, and brush him daily (mostly twice/day) and use a rake weekly.
Although there isn’t much fur on the floor and furniture, I noticed fine white dander sprinkled everywhere. As a first time dog mom, I hadn’t expected that. It’s not terrible, but definitely need to stay on top of the housekeeping. 😂

I may try bathing him more frequently, but his skin has been really healthy with the schedule he’s on now, so may not mess with it. Apparently, Westies are prone to skin issues.
Interestingly, dander not only comes from the skin, but from the hair plug when the fur is pulled out or fall out. I saw that on a grooming video. Who knew!

My standard poodle doesn’t shed Per se but she does have breakage that we vacuum up.

Makes sense! I wish more doodle people would consider a Spoo, although I respect either decision!

Doodles don't have a double coat like a Aussie..

Depends on what they're bred with.

Many do or have a mixed coat that makes them more prone to matting.
