Your daughter is sharp as a tack and very sweet! Yes, Mitch is a natural-born countertenor, a very rare gift. Somehow his voice survived the ravages of puberty, so he didn't have to train himself for years to go that high. Likewise, Avi is a basso profondo, and his normal voice is a deep rumble. Gotta love the diversity in this group, they really are a dream team! By the way, they don't only do covers! Check out their original songs like Love Again, Can't Sleep Love, Sing, Coffee In Bed, A Little Space ft Ateez, Happy Now, and Be My Eyes. 🕊️❤️🍦

Mitch is indeed a natural countertenor, which is already super rare. And he does indeed not need to practice as much as others.
He is however super dedicated to training his voice, so really its a best of both worlds i think. If you watch older to newer videos, you can really see how he has improved quite a lot (like all of the group)

Definitely recommend their 90s Dance Medley. You can see their other member Matt (who joined as their new bass after Avi/Jesus left) and it’s such a fun video!

Interesting trivia on this song, apparently they recorded each individual doing their parts one at a time in a closet in one of their homes. They then put all the tracks together to make this excellenct song.

Love this one. Not hard to see why they won a Grammy for this huh! They are in the middle of a world tour right now. In a few weeks they go to Europe and then this summer they’re going to be in the US. I’m going to see them in September in Northern California.

next on their playlist should be IMAGINE by John Lennon and then for something totally different listen to Oh Come All Ye Faithful. (Kevin - beat boxer and tenor arranged it to honor his parents heritage) Avi the bass (looks like Jesus) leaves the group later and new Bass will be Matt Sallee. Kirsten, Mitch the counter tenor and Scott the tall blond baritone all met as kids and sang as a trio in High School in Texas. They added Kevin who also plays the cello and was at Harvard Medical and Avi a couple weeks before being on "The Sing Off" and winning!
AND Scott(blonde guy) takes over the bass line when Avi(original bass) or Matt(new bass) take the lead.
As a K-5 music teacher, I play many types of music for my students. PTX is one of the most frequent. I love and appreciate how you enjoy and listen to all music. I try to get my students to do the same! Thank you! And your daughter is a beautiful, young lady with a sharp mind. I hope she does something musical at her school! Kudos!

Reactors sometimes comment that Avi appears high in this video due to his blood-shot eyes; as I understand it his eyes were badly irritated by the blue contacts, and Kevin found them so painful that he had to opt for the goggles instead! Nevertheless this was one of three works that earned them Grammys ( as well as a nomination for a fourth), and they've also received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Their live-on-stage performances as just as skilled as their recorded ones, so if you get a chance to attend one of their concerts I'll bet you'll love it.

If you like different genres of music, here's something you might not have heard of, but I think you'll like it: KDA - Popstars. (The group is called KDA, the song is Popstars). Other songs of theirs you might enjoy are "More," "The Baddest," and "Villain." I won't ruin the surprise by telling you what genre it is, but I will say it was a group put together by a video game company looking to engineer a new kind of music. They knew it was a risk when they released it, but hoped it would be hot.
It went nuclear.

On a most basic level, overlaying the red curtains with the image from the original video will stop content scouring bots from recognizing it and false flagging it, as it alters it enough for them not to recognize it and for it not to compete with the original source material, while still giving the audience enough context to see where in the video you are in your reaction, which is brilliant.
On a different level, their greenish pale skins and black eyes make it like it's a completely different video, making them look sinister instead of just enjoying themselves which makes one(Well... Me, at least.) experience the video differently.
I mean... She was looking like a flirty siren and turned into something with Left 4 Dead Witch vibes.
Unintentionally, you managed to transform the video enough for it to feel like I'm watching it for the first time along with you, even though I am binging reactions to the Daft Punk medley.

Check out Kevin’s solo work on his channel Kevin Olusula. He is a modern day renaissance man. He also plays cello and saxophone and has a video where he plays cello and beatboxes at the same time. He’s done a couple of KOvers with looping tracks. His talent has no limits.

So in case no one has mentioned, though I’m sure they have, this got them their first Grammy on a $400 budget recorded in a closet in one of their apts and edited in the kitchen counter. The lines about “we’ve come too far to give up who we are” they had been dropped by Sony (their loss, wonder who got fired over that f up😂) after having won the sing off. So that part of this medley is sooooo true. Their dreams sure have come true and they deserve to celebrate

Even other reactions to do with your daughter that are PTX-related (or PTX-adjacent, if you will): The all-female A Capella group "Citizen Queen" started by Scott of PTX. "Evolution of Girl Groups" is an obvious starter, but "Killing Me Softly", and "Never Enough" will impress more, I think. I really like "Y (Stripped)", too.
