The idea of Harry being a sort of global dispatcher who has to commit to sending his operators into certain situations across the globe gives me this weird idea for a Siege Challenge series where there's a separate mode comprised of let's say fifty different scenarios of escalating difficulty that require you to think up a solution to each scenario with different operators to solve. Not always just 'kill the terrorists' or 'defuse a bomb', but maybe 'exfil a hostsge without being detected' or 'plant a defuser within 20s of an action phase starting'. Throw in some unique rewards and weapon / operator skins for completion as you go along, too. Like Need For Speed's Challenge Series, but with operators instead of cars.
@@iivwu not just that the situations teached core mechanics, this would be a puzzle for you to think through with unlimited time, and put it in execution with low amount of time. An actual challenge mode.
imagine if those situations taught you how to coordinate utility with your teammates. imagine the single player being used as a way to teach people how to play the multiplayer! almost like that's how games were.

All good bro I wasn't trying to be combative. I don't want to dedicate a whole video to it cause it's not what people are here for. Thanks for being cool. Have a good one.
This has probably been spoken many times before, but Harry is just unfortunate. We got that super good Hammer and Scalpel animation that introduced Harry and people was hype for the dude. Then basically nothing else of note, some artworks here and there just ain't enough for the community. Then Ubi decided to get a bit too experimental, the tournament/Nighthaven arc happened, bad gameplay updates, hack/cheat, etc..., and Harry is just...the punching bag, the strawman for everything. He couldn't do shit to redeem himself, and Ubi just strung his corpse up the doorway like a symbol of changes to come.
Jon Rainbow and Bob Esport 😂😂😂 Personally, i loved the Harry era of Siege. I really enjoyed seeing the tournament aspect and his approach to Team Rainbow
Actually in custom games there used to be a "realism" option where you could swap the ammo pool for actual magazines you had to manage. Idk if they still have it since they removed a lot of things like fire mode select tc but they could experiment with it a bit.
I never tried to take the story too seriously, mainly due to knowing it was a multiplayer game as well as not having any history with Tom Clancy. So, i dont have any say with how it's gone, but man were the stadium event modes were some of my favorite times in siege. I feel like everything went bad with multiplayer and live service games when COD and Halo stopped focusing on a singleplayer game with a multiplayer tacked on. Now they try and put the story INTO the multiplayer and it just hasnt found a way to meld together well.
The “esports arc” if you would is definitely when I mentally tuned out and now I really have no clue where we’re at, I’ll have to go back and see. But the lore has really been all over the spot
I literally only play Siege because I have always liked the story of the Tom Clancy games. I did not like the reality tv game show crap, and I'm happy we are getting away from that.
I'm a bit confused by the comments about Valorant's lore not going anywhere because I've recently got into Valorant now that it's finally on console (I've been wanting to since your video's on it back in the day) and from what I've gathered from beginning to dive into the lore, Valorant very much is going somewhere with it's lore, especially recently with the Scions of Hourglass, Omen, and all that. Honestly this is a lot of extra words just to ask if you mean they're not doing anything with the lore *in game* or not doing anything with it *in general*.
Ghost Recon Wildlands and Breakpoint have Rainbow focused missions. which makes deimos funnier cause breakpoint has the bad guy of that game is literally a guy in tacticool looking rain coat, uses a revolver and a skull mask, and they never touch that in siege
It would be great if we could play the new story direction in a singleplayer/co-op campaign. I’m not mad at all about the new direction of Siege, but it feels like a tease of what we could get from a traditional campaign.
I think lore is really important. Multiplayer or not. League of Legends has some of the best lore in gaming, and it shows some lore pieces, even in game.
I honestly didn't mind the esports stuff nor Harry being the new Six. The one thing I hated was that cutscene at the end of The Playbook cinematic that teased this Captain America: Civil War type feud that was gonna blow up inside Rainbow and never went anywhere after that cinematic. Just me or anyone else?
man as an indian person i get one half baked villain and one leader who got murc'd in the night like a dog. can we please get someone more interested/a better operator xD
Did you see the r6 2 leak, and then have it be confirmed fake less than 24hrs later? I was genuinely happy and even emotional when I saw the post, I really like this game and I hope that to some degree the leak isn’t actually fake
For me, and I can't remember if this was before or after Harry was introduced, it was the introduction of units from specific countries that made no sense. I'm sorry Amaru does not belong on Team Rainbow nor Iana. I don't mind them being a part of the organization as advisors for operations in and around their home countries, but it was a weird shift in tone to have them added to the roster. I understand not every operator can be an ex-SEAL, Ranger, Delta Force, SAS/SBS, Royal Marine, KSK/GSG9, GIGN/Foreign Legion type, but... when several Tier 1 units from Western nations, which are certifiably of higher caliber and better equipped than third world nations (and by third world, I mean the actual definition of that term), it kinda feels like ok whatever, have to get the diversity in. I don't mind the diversity, again, all for them bringing in third world operators and advisors, it's just odd to me that they don't use operators from the 75th Rangers, MARSOC, 24th STS, Special Boat Service, KSK, Royal Marines, or Sayaret Matkal or Shayetet-13. Thus, Deimos feels like a welcome return-to-form of he's former military, from a specialized unit, and his gadget (in my head canon/lore from the game more than actual mechanics) is that he studied his enemies, he knows how they try to accomplish their missions, he has a small recon esque device (which does exist in real life), and... that's his gadget. The most unrealistic thing about him is that he has a revolver with a scope on it that looks like it belongs on the African savannah or out in bear country and he has a weird cloak and mask, but they look sick, and Tier 1 units have worn items of clothing and armor for intimidation more than actual purpose. All-in-all, if Ubisoft continues on this trajectory, we'll be ok in terms of striking the balance of "let's not make Tom Clancy have a stroke in Heaven" and "let's have a game with cool characters and character designs".
I love high art style video games. Real philosophical ideas expressed or commentary on our actual world are welcome. Siege (and Ubisoft in general) acts like they do this but in reality they make the most braindead no meaning stories. Undercut by wishy-washy plots and "both sides bad (or not bad)" attempts suck. I always get ny hopes up when they seem to have a point to make like when the white masks were a certain kind of extremist, maybe we'd learn something about our enemy that might offer commentary on our irl world. But nope, it would be controversial to say the quiet part out loud. Now I don't care about lore because it will always be watered down neoliberal centrist bullshit that will never take a side or stance.
i had only 1 problem with the tactical olylimpics ark. how do R6 not Expose every op's ID to every Bad guy. wouldn't that just tell them who's Family to Kidnap?
If only they released PVE missions every few seasons each built around the abilities of hand picked operators similar to operation chimera. Why not make a sniper mission for glass and Kali + 3 other ops . A stealth mission for Sam, Nokk, Vigil, and Caveira. A searching mission for Jackal, Lion and Deimos. Siege would be such a better game. Now it's too late, budget is probably drained by now.
I don't hate the character interactions but I hate the implications of an open tournament. As I commented in the poll, these are very private people who are the zenith of all anti terrorists organizations in the world and you show their faces and gather them all in one building. It's stupid how not one operator complained about how stupid it is or that Harry in the end wasn't trying to kill them with his actions.
I fell off of siege when the art style started to change around Ember Rise I think it was and the operators felt like they were reaching just a little bit too far, I started in velvet shell, and it can be argued that even during that time the operators were getting "futuristic" jackals foot print scanner, alibis hologram etc, but most of their actual character designs felt like realistic depictions of actual equipment and gear used by CTE, that were implementing more and more advanced technology in use, and then in ember rise amaru and goyo, they didnt represent their units in the slightest, they looked like they were meant for an adventure game, followed by the rapid switch to the art style of the nighthaven group, and their equipment looking less and less practical for real world use.
i dont even play R6 anymore mostly because im just tired of the looping gameplay and want something else for now -- will definitely come back tho. i just like listening to your yap sesh lol
