I haven't played it, but it looks like it's just a dungeon crawler turn based RPG where you make your own party, like Wizardry or Etrian Odyssey.

@@lunebadru5997 Yeah, it's been announced over two years ago. People are starting to lose hope, but I saw a good comment on the subreddit that pointed out that the first EO game didn't even come to the DS until late in its lifecycle. Seems to be the case for a lot of Atlus games. There is some worry about how the mapmaking will work, lack of touchscreen while docked and the tedium it might present to cycle through markers. Plus how it's traditionally relied on dualscreen. I have faith they can come up with a good interface though, and they could make the game only run while undocked.

Could always use more dungeon crawling rpgs. Etrian Odyssey doesn't have specific stat allocation, and I imagine this doesn't have the same focus on binds/ailments (though maybe that was just my party compositions).

i loved both theses games back when they first came out and ive been playing stranger of sword city again on pc but i cant wait to play both again on a handheld since my vita is usually packed away not in uses lately.

The best games to get for the Nintendo switch are Tokyo Mirage sessions fire emblem three houses Xenoblade chronicles 1 and 2 Street fighter 30th anniversary and Pokémon you should play those.

I believe it's just published by NIS, which makes sense since their main focus is publishing lower budget Japanese games like this in the west.

@@seseiSeki That's thanks to the low budget of all of the games. I'd say all of the Nippon Ichi developed games (Disgaea, Soul Nomad, Phantom Brave, Makai Kingdom, etc) are all similar to each other in look and feel thanks to the fact that most of the same developers work on all of them, while all of the NIS America published games that aren't made my Nippon Ichi all share niche tendencies (mostly RPG mechanics) and that low budget Japanese art style.

I'm interested in Stranger of Sword City; will I like it if I like Megami Tensei games? is the story good ? are the dungeons engaging or too much backtrack/recycled content? Art is gorgeus, I wish more games had this type of detailed, mature fantasy vibe.

@@Zeriel00 I started with Stronghold 1998 lol. I miss the old sets. I don’t play anymore. I was in and out of the game 4 or 5 times in the last 15 years or so. I loved the Ravnica, Kamigawa and Mirrodin blocks so much.
@@michaelmccourt4992 YEA! that was the golden age! so many cool abilities and lore and everyone was experimenting with everything and having fun.
Now days you can't even play because everybody has some tournament ready 500$ deck full crazy combos and counters that you can't even play against. It stopped being about creating cool decks and is now more about who has the most money to buy the most expensive meta cards :( Go into tournaments or online and everybody basically has the same 3-4 decks.
I got into MTG Arena but quit once everybody started running that crazy Teferi deck around War of the Spark with multiple dual lands and every counter in the meta until they pull out their invinsible combo it was so riddiculous x_x
@@Zeriel00 sounds about right. I too played MTG Arena free to play but quickly got bored of the grind and playing against the same 2 or 3 broken decks.

What can i say if not "Noice"
The game looks very interesting. Create your own adventure and your own part, it's an interesting concept. But there one question: are there other races BESIDES humans that are showcased here? Because all I see in the video are all humans. Where's the beast people? The beastmen, the lizardmen? I can't play a fantasy game if theres no actual diverse of race in the game, otherwise its not an fantasy game.
There are no rules while making a fantasy game, what's the point of that? A random guy can suddenly decide what's a fantasy game now?

Which one can't really say about saviors, but with stranger you're free to pick different races for each of your party members and yes beastmen are among them! I'm in agreement that I do enjoy these type of RPG when I have different races next two different classes because well I find it fun to be like oh I pick a race that has a lot of benefits and it's suggested they be a ninja or Thief but instead I make them a freaking Paladin instead, or picking a raise stats usually put in fighter classes in is terrible in magic in a magic class because they become durable magic users! I just like the fun of being able to do whatever I f****** want with such options. It's no fun if you restrict races in essence restricting my imagination because I like to imagine the Back stories of all my created characters in that way. Like if I have a hobbit race. The reason I would make one a paladin is I'm remembering Mazy from Boulders gate to a hobbit who dreamed of becoming a paladin which back then was a class restricted to human and even though she's a fighter , she has unique special abilities to herself that allow her to cast some priest spells that a Paladin could cast allowing her to pretty much be a Paladin even if she's not of the Paladin class and has the full privileges that a Paladin would have. Fun character and the decent companion. But yeah it's her character that inspired many of my own creations and games like this, such as the cat boy priest or the dwarf Wizard, or elf Thief with a sailor mouth from all the cursing... And she has a Scottish accent! I still enjoy human and all my parties there will always be one or two humans. But I do enjoy the option an interesting benefits and drawbacks of each race Choice

I get what you mean really I wouldn't have given saviors a second look until I realized stranger of Sword City was attached to it! It's one of my favorite games back from the 360. But looking at the fact they want $50 for this unless any review gives a positive to saviors of sapphire wings. Going to wait for a price drop I love strangers but it's been a good long while since the game originally came out on the Vita PC and 360 so I'm not going to Shell out more money than its worth even with the extra content which I believe the Vita version had along with the PC version! Only willing if the game it's packaged with is worth a damn. I mean I don't buy a collection for one game! Got the Bioshock collection in will rarely if never play Infinite , but I bought it more for the first game and especially the second one. And I bought it at a reasonable price for the first two games damn happy digital let me avoid downloading infinite!

Basically, you make a party with a list of classes, then explore dungeons (that you get to map yourself). It’s pretty neat, definitely worth a look into if you own a 3DS

Idk why but I just can't get into this style of game. I don't like the first person view of the enemies while my characters are just hp/mp bars at the bottom of the screen. I think the ds Digimon games were the first I played like that. It's a shame because I'm sure these games are great. They look good
Yeah, I'm the same. Eventually, it becomes something you can tolerate or even enjoy. I recommend playing a fre demos of the Etrian games on the 3ds, or even a few games on the Switch. I find that demos help you get into the genre. I personally enjoy the dungeon crawling aspect of it
I get really annoyed seeing these mobile app type games being released on the switch.
This isn't an RPG Maker game, but it sure does look like one, doesn't it? Everything from the art style to the way the battle animations play out. The fact that this trailer totally skimmed over the first-person dungeon crawler gameplay that would've set it apart doesn't help.
