    Miss, please stop cutting wood between two supports like that! The wood will pinch the saw blade and could cause the saw to jerk back violently towards you. IT's very dangerous!! Instead, allow the shortest end of wood to hang off the edge of the support. That way the wood will just drop off safely and the saw blade won't pinch.

      @mgray612 Thanks so much for the tip. 🙂 It makes a lot of sense, especially if the wood was held in place on the supports. In my case, I was holding one end while the other end was mostly free to fall off. As a result, the saw didn't jerk. I initially tried to cut with the log on just one stool and the log kept on moving forward (with the saw). The second stool helped. If I was cutting a lot of logs, I would build a table for the job ....

    I was kinda lost. I got the barefoot and cutting wood part and when you were squishing around in the mud... i thought, that's about right for her. Just things that she does... but making "charcoal"? How does this work? Do you burn it again? Why not just use the fire? I think you should make a follow up video how you use it... i mean, not to sound stupid.. I've had bbq's and stuff, but.. you burn it again? I'm sorry. Never mind me.

      @stepfour Charcoal is made by slowly burning wood anaerobically. Essentially, I burned the wood, but did not allow it to go to ash. This first burn also removes smoke so cooking with charcoal should be less painful on the eyes. So yes, you light it up a second time, without all the inconveniences of using straight firewood. Here is a video where I start up the charcoal for cooking: m.czcams.com/users/shortsFd5PF7bJGTI

    Will you ever go back to crushing bugs again?

    • @barefoothomestead
      @barefoothomestead  Před 6 měsíci

      I will continue to add short bug crushing at the end of videos (if I have footage of bug crushing). However, if I make and upload solely bug crushing videos, CZcams adds a strike and puts the channel on time out. If the channel gets enough strikes, it will be removed.
