I host senior parties (cha-cha, rhumba, tango, waltz, madison, 70's + 80's disco, twist, rock'n'roll chuck berry or Elvis, bachata, country, etc., etc.) No modern music , neither rap, nor house, nor techno... Nothing but music for people coming out of dance school. I've watched both videos and many more, it seems only the Ketron can do this.
There is a lot of latin styles. I'm preparing a new video about this.

- Chuck Berry, Boney m, Kool & The Gang, Tom Jones, The platters, Elvis Presley, the Beatles, Abba, village people, Oh pretty woman ? (...) Tyros 4, Tyros 5, Genos : sucks ! But with the Ketron we are in another world!
My question: Does Pa5X have styles that can play all of this music? And if so, does it exceed the Ketron?

It looks like the Pa5X is really a step closer to a professional non-arranger synthesizer in terms of sound quality, isn't it? I have a Pa4X. I love it because of the arranger functionalities and some of the sounds, but it never really convinced me in overall sound quality, mostly when compared to other specialized synths, like the Montage, Fantom or Kronos. Not always quite there and I just use it to control my synths via MIDI and use their sounds instead of the built-in Pa4X sounds. But the Pa5X sound quality is really impressive. How do you feel about it?
Hmmm, still sounds like an arranger, styles too quantized, missing that live human feel, the solo instruments sounds ok, expected a bit more for an update on a machine that’s been around for quite some time. I tend to be drawn more and more towards Roland thesedays, especially the Fantom 6, but I think it’s just because of my style of music I put out there.
@@andrem.musiek I’m referring to sounds, not styles specifically. I agree that styles sound like coming from an arranger though, but if you use the same level of quantising using computers or other non-arranger keyboards, like the Fantom, these will sound like arrangers too. Previous arrangers added more artificial feeling to the equation because not only their styles are mechanically programmed, but also because the quality of the sounds and effects suck. Maybe now with the Pa5X we can create better styles with better sounds. What do you think?
@@CoderCoronet maybe yes, don’t get me wrong, I love Korg and were overjoyed when the Triton VSTI came out after I sold my synth about 5 years ago. But ya it’s a great looking instrument, and I know with OS updates it will become a mean arranger, it’s just unfortunate that there’s still bit of that old arranger feel to how it sound in general.
@@andrem.musiek No it’s ok really. I totally agree it still sounds artificial. I would say that the main issues happen when changing chords. It sounds like the tracks cut too suddenly and maybe a little off. They haven’t fixed that yet and it is annoying. I remember my old Roland G-600. It managed changing chords in a more subtle way.

I also noticed all that. Because that's what Korg established : Arrangers and Workstations are WORLDS APPART.
We all need this difference between the categories.
Do you want to be original and bring out shocking new compositions ? Buy a Workstation.
Do you want to feel comfortable and cope with all gigs circumstances ? Buy an Arranger.

- My answer :
1. Yes, in the Arrangers there is that "Wrap Around" setting, in which you can establish to what extent the accompaniment "repeats" the SAME pitch. It's usually about one octave, and if you go above or below that octave, the same bass pitch will follow you, not bringing anything new.
2. In the world of Workstations the 2 Arpeggiators although limited - compared to the vast 8 track Accomp of the Arrangers - are doing a different job. The sounds are clearer, and MOST IMPORTANTLY : they are not set to "Wrap Around", they are responding to whatever pitch you choose on the ENTIRE keyboard.
3. I'm glad that Korg continues with the 2 Arps tradition in Workstations, while the other companies have only 1 !!! ... By the way, Kronos had 4 KARMA Modules !!!
