- We work on a lot of broken R8 and Lamborghini V10 dual clutch transmissions, so we thought we'd explain how they can fail and what can be done to upgrade them to prevent future issues.
We took a DCT transmission from a Gen 2 R8 V10 Plus and carried out a full strip-down to show all of the component parts and what they do.

The last gearbox I stripped was a Vauxhall Chevette in the early 80’s! Things have changed somewhat! Amazing engineering and tech. Brilliant job 👏👏👏👏👏
My three only gearbox strips were one disaster and and two successes. First when I was 17 a four speed Ford Anglia109E which went to the scrapper lol, second a Borg Warner 65 I think it was out of my SD1 3.5 V8 Rover. That went back in with new clutch plates and bands, worked fine and thirdly a 2600 Land Rover 109 Four Speed new synchros and all new bearings and seals in both both main and Transfer boxes. That worked fine too.
Wow. Utmost respect for knowing how to deal with that gearbox.

Hi my car is audi r8 2014 with transmission code NXZ can i buy a new transmission model year 2016 or 2017 and replaced the megatronic and then instal it to my car ?
14:40. a sheet metal guy can make you a drain pan that fits "with" that stand, so you don't spill 1 drop of fluid. and it wouldn't cost much.
Would a gearbox oil flush not work to clean the mechtronics sensors?
no they are magnetic
If used hard how often should oil be changed will that stop that swarf build up.
If used on track as well I would be changing at least every year. The clutches run in it so degrades quickly.
Is Ricky's floor cleaning services available for hire?
Every other V10 plus doesnt lunch well at all. They slip and traction kicks in and shuts off the power and it only picks up from second gear

Looking at buying a gen 2 but what are you referring too when you say check that the engine hasn’t been clocked?
He means check the mileage of the car itself hasn’t been altered(i.e. reduced)

I did take about what the upgrades are, Dodson 11 plate clutch, 2nd gear and circlip. 👍🏼

As you know mine went, old box back to Audi, new one in from Audi but that is warranty for ya. If I had no warranty you'd have been doing it :)
