  • This is examining the Hebrew Version of James (Ya'akov) that is found in the British National Library. The writing comes from a family from the first century and it does not have Greek influence. There are two major findings in this manuscript that change what the Greek text appears to be saying. Praise God this was preserved.

Sorry but the KJV is not the first English translation to use James instead of Jacob or Ya'akov :
From a quick Google search :
"In the 14th century, John Wycliffe made the first Bible translation into English and translated Iakobus as James. (However, in both the Old and New Testaments he arbitrarily used the name Jacob for the patriarch)." Apr 27, 2017

@@koreyoneal2623 interesting… I had not heard that before. Wonder what the Geneva Bible and the Tindale Bible did about James.

@@ProjectTruthMinistries People have been making up all kinds of things about King James , so you really need to research the rumours about him before parroting them . They like to say that he was gay but considering the fact that he's not only a long distant cousin of mine but also my 13th great grandfather , I don't think that he was gay or I wouldn't be here .
      ◄ James 1 ►
      Tyndale New Testament
1)" Iames the servant of God, and of the Lord Iesus Christ, sendeth greeting to the xij. tribes which are scattered here and there"
Something doesn't look right about this one because the letter J wasn't being used in English in 1599 and definitely not as a soft G . At any rate , King James did not use James instead of Jacob/ Ya'akov just in order to insert his name into the bible
      James 1:1
      1599 Geneva Bible
      The [a]General Epistle of James
1 4 He entreateth of patience, 6 of faith, 10 and of lowliness of mind in rich men. 13 That tentations come not of God for our evil, 17 because he is the author of all goodness. 21 In what manner the word of life must be received.
1 James a servant of God, and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve Tribes, which are [b]scattered abroad, salutation

@@ProjectTruthMinistries I hope I didn't come across as being too abrasive or harsh , I just get really irritated with things like that . On a separate note , I had done this awhile ago but can't seem to find it , I was watching a video teaching and the guy brought up Psalm 119 so I did it over again and have it saved on my clipboard .
