  • Cuba’s Barrio Chino De Havana is one of the oldest and largest Chinatowns in Latin America. Yet this once vibrant neighbourhood has been in decline for decades. Many Cubans of Chinese descent fled the island nation soon after Fidel Castro’s 1959 revolution.

First generation in the USA as Cuban Chinese. I’d love to connect with anyone to share stories. My grandmother is getting old and it’s challenging to get the full scoop so I’d love to have someone to piece some of the stories with together.

I feel sorry for this guy! He has lost his entire community, and a great part of what his identity was based on!

Not to mention China has moved from 94th largest economy on Earth to the 2nd spot in 30 years. Cubans are good at biotechnology and medicine.

I can really feel for this man. I have ancestry from cuba but of Filipino ancestry and afro cuban. The existence of Filipino cubans is also hard to come by and I wish I could learn more about my great grandmothers homeland before she passed. All I know is that her mother was from Manila

There needs to be documentaries on the asian indian and arabs in the caribbean because trinidad and tobago , Guyana and suriname has a lot .it's still good to talk about Chinese - caribbeans but I think they purposely refuse to talk about the indian and arab caribbeans . today 45 % of trinidad's population is of india indian ancestry as well as guyana and suriname not to mention suriname is the only part of the americas that has a large javanese population . Cuba isn't the only caribbean island and what about arab - cubanos?

Thomas , Chile has the most Palestinians in the world out side of Palestine . and these three caribbean countries trinidad and tobago , Guyana and suriname has the most Indians or south asians on earth out side of south Asia that is but here in the u.s white people , Hispanics and blacks can't understand that at all , they always be thinkin I'm from Arabia even tho I'm indian - trinidadian (born in trinidad and tobago , caribbean islands ) of Asia indian ancestry .
