Having a full time job as a photographer at a company I am not having a good time with, is making the thought of doing photography as a freelance as a "side hustle" to get my freelance career of its feet feels unbearable. I am so burnt out and tired every day I get home, and barely pick up my camera to do anything outside of work anymore. It's not even about not being willing to put in the work, I just feel so overwhelmed
I totally understand this â€ïž So many people just donât realise how hard this is, and how being a creative and stuck in a situation that makes you feel overwhelmed and burnt out can honestly kill your creativity. Itâs absolutely not as easy as âjust getting startedâ either, but make sure to take care of yourself first before you make those next steps! Try to find those things that made you love photography in the first place again đ
So real! A lot of informational videos are optimization and tactics, which are great, but I really appreciate that you also talk about the mental/emotional side. Like keeping space to stay creative and not getting burnt out. And I so appreciate that you are just a warm and encouraging person! đ
I really appreciate your lovely words, thank you so much! I truly feel that without the mental/emotional consideration, it makes it really hard to keep up with the schedules, strategies and business goals.
So above all else I feel that itâs so important to make sure creatives are not burning themselves out, itâs definitely key! đ
Thanks for watching! â€ïž
Hey, this was a very good video! Different to most that talk about content scheduling etc.
I posted my very first YT video a few days back and managed to get 700+ views on my 1st đ
A fantastic & inspiring video Kayleigh and I started doing content creation last year but didn't take it seriously until June this year. Love đ„° this video and love đ being a content creator. Love đ Kayleigh and I am a new subscriber.
Thanks so much David! Amazing to hear that youâre already well on your way with your content creation đ
wow, "3 times a week with FTE!" - that is hard. I still find it hard to post once every week and sometimes it's once in 1.5 weeks. But it's still better than zero videos
Yeah it's crazy! Even without a full time job it's difficult to produce 3 quality videos per week. đ”âđ«
And you're absolutely right, every week or every couple of weeks is way better than not posting at all! đ
What a helpful video! Thank you for the tips :)
No worries at all! I'm so glad you found it to be helpful đ„°
Just found your channel, itâs been very helpful!
Im so glad itâs been helpful for you! It means a lot to hear that đ„°
I ended up quitting my 9-5 as I tried doing content creation on the side and it just was not happening....my full time job was a video editor so the last thing I wanted to do after being on the computer and editing all day was to continue editing. I knew if I kept it up I would never get the content creation thing up and running
I totally understand how this feels! (In fact Iâve had to do the same thing on several occasions in the past!)
Fingers crossed it all works out for you, itâs always a nerve wracking and exciting leap of faith! đ
Anyone who makes fun of someoneâs Christmas tree should be on the naughty list. Seriously, though, thanks for this video as I plan a career pivot this year.
Hahaha I agree! đ Thanks Jim & good luck with your career pivot, how exciting! đ
Beige Christmas tree matches your skin tone. â€ïž
Hahaha, it absolutely does đđ
I'm struggling to even post once a month. I get easily overwhelmed.
I totally understand, Iâve been there! Sometimes if all you can manage is one post a month, then thatâs 100% fine and at the end of the day youâre still working towards what you want.
I think thereâs also times when you just may not feel in the right headspace to tackle a side hustle/social media and thatâs okay too! Iâve definitely experienced this many times throughout my life for sure đźâđš
