Just yesterday I was listening to The Aaron Abke podcast in Spotify, precisely Episode 22: The Science of Spiritual Awakening. And the next quote hit me like a train ''Many people who claim to have already had a spiritual awakening, are still completely identified with their mind, and have no awareness of who they are beyond their story or their thoughts. And this is because the ego loves spiritual identities more than anything else''. Bitch slap/Front Kick/Right in the nuts...my face still hurts. Woke up craving for an episode on spiritual ego. Here it is. There are no words to thank you. You seem to always be guiding us gently to the next step, we truely love you man...

Funny how synchronicities work for me. I was just talking about this with a person and this video showed up and it says exactly how I was feeling in regards to the Spiritual Ego. She was saying they, she, we, "light workers" as she claims herself to be, are here to "save" people from their Ego, but that she got a download that now we have to stop trying to "save" them. I can not tell how much this felt in dissonance inside. "Save"? Who are we? And why do we think we have to "save" them as if we were superiors and "already saved ourselves". It's like, I need to take the beam of my eye, but I'm looking at other people's eyes.
When we remove all labels, there's only the infinite void, the source, the Totality, pure consciousness...and all the illusion is gone, the separation, the labels, and levels that make us believe we are higher than they are, when They, are Us, the same source expressed from another point of perception. Who is the "I" that thinks "they" need to be saved? or I am "awake" and they are "asleep" just because I can see what they don't. Each one is in their own dream...and each one is the creator of their dream/reality. and we co-create a collective dream...but in a deeper level there's only Pure Consciousness, God, source, the one, dreaming it all. We are the dream and the dreamer.
Why do we think our dream is the truth and theirs is not?
The resurrection into our true Self only occurs when we stop identifying with labels, names, accumulated past memories and programs accepted as the definition of who we think we are. Once we remove all those layers then we can become a clear channel for the river of life, flow through us. The Ego, is needed to play in this density, but it's the Altered Ego that took over. The Ego needs to be recognized and become subordinated to the SELF. Without Ego at all, we are Source, pure consciousness, the I AM, and we would not be able to play this game of self expansion, self Awareness and self gratification.
We need to be able to be in the Game, but know we aren't the game and that's how we transcend the illusion, but we can still enjoy being here. Create, play, enjoy the Beauty of all creation. Just like when we play a video game. We choose a character, but we know that we are not it. Then we don't fear death, or care about what really happens...it is just a game. Some take it serious, identify with it and suffer it, like also with sports, but when their change their focus to something else, they even forget about their game, or their team having lost...and let go of the emotions attached to it. "Life is a Game, play it"

Simple humility is the undoing of the spiritual ego.
One of my greatest teachers, David R Hawkins, uses a similar question to undo the spiritual ego. That question is "So what?".
Using these questions has made it glaringly obvious in myself and other people when the ego is trying to prove itself, gain validation, or take pride in itself.
Very informative video. The biggest trap about any type of pride or ego is that it will trick us into believing that we need to overcome or become something or present ourselves a certain way. It deceives us away from focusing on the love, peace, joy, beauty and goodness that exist in the moment.
This video resonated with me very deeply because ive been guilty of it all , i feel very grateful to be called out on my shit ! Thank you so much !

I see enlightenment as being the light that I am, and being guided by the light that I am.
I've been listening to Steve Hillage my whole life... Especially the motivation radio album.... It was my greatest opportunity to remember myself and when God woke me up I knew exactly who I was and why I was here... Steve Hillage could possibly be channelling the teachings of Ra in a simplistic form .... Motivation radio is by far one of the greatest albums in the world.... It was my direct line to the christ.... Which then in turn made me want to learn about jesus... Which I knew instantly the moment I awakened was an enlightened master just as the budda is.... And that I am the prodical sun and that no matter how far I wander... When cognitive dissonance arises I can always return home to the christ in my heart.... My saviour ... I followed the teachings of Buddhism up until that moment.... But now I understand that all religious teachings say the same thing.... They are tools to remember that.... Love always wins... I am love! Undiluted Neverending pure source energy... The creator.....Hinduism helps me alot... And Evangelists.... I started with the law of one and you started with religion... 3:02 is exactly where I’m at. Going through the dark night right now. Over the years I’ve obsessively gathered spiritual knowledge, thinking I was integrating it. All it took was getting into a relationship where all my trauma came to the surface and came to an exploding point that made it VERY apparent that all the knowledge in the world means nothing without embodiment.
Yes..I am the Soul connected with higher Soul..I am that i am. I am not the body not the mind not the thoughts not the emotions..i am a child of God connected with God i am one with God and one with all this is the truth..weather the mind understands or not..
I asked the one who started me on my path if he could give any insight or advice on the ego taking credit for the awakening and enlightenment effects I’ve been experiencing, or about how the slightly unconscious spiritual ego slowly gains superiority over the completely unconscious ego, eventually becoming just as powerful, controlling, and reactive as the original mind tyrant.
Within the same day this video just jumped off my screen; my mind making it seem like it was meant for me to discover amongst all the other as an entity I couldn’t ignore. Nothing else existed around it, and all I see in memory is this particular video bigger than my screen and the only clear image at the time. After listening to it, I have a much better grip on what’s really happening as I witness my ego seeming to change into another ego based off my new experiences and the different reactions and judgements I’m now unintentionally programming myself with.
I’m so very thankful to those sharing their insightful knowledge where we can all gather and learn and practice our awakening with so many different perspectives and ways of gaining this freedom. I’ve barely scratched the surface, but already so much is changing and happening strangely and naturally. I keep finding myself so full of bliss that I’m having to calm my emotions to stop the flow of tears from the incredible joy of freedom, and from this path I always knew was here but was missing so much detail and motivation to pursue the depths of it.
Thank you.. and I hope other experiences are as profound as my own and more. The excitement and possibilities are endless.

Learning to humble myself. I am divine and I don't need to make anyone see my uniqueness anymore. I was trying too hard to have people acknowledge me and my pain, and how to be there for me and love me right.... wheeeeen maybe they didn't want to, and I shouldn't have been trying so hard to make someone like or love me to begin with. I was focused on the wrong things. There is only this one energy, and that energy just already is. It doesn't need anything from itself. Just the ego wants more and to try 'fixing' things when there's truly nothing to fix. Maybe to grow and evolve but not to gain anything from itself. Screw the seperate self, that was too much drama lol. I have to love myself first, and see that I am just pure consciousness, without all of that egoic baggage. I know it's here right now, but my ego is still strong so it still has some inner work to do lol. Meditation will let all of it go. I can't wait to feel free from this mental prison!
You can always tell when someone cares because they make such an effort to act like they don't. 🙏😮
In my experience I still improving the ego, is my belief that as long as I have a body and a mind that serve as a tool I always gonna be aware of the possibility of an spiritual ego and others too, all egos anyway. I'm working in transforming my ego to be more flexible, I allow my ego to be part of the team but is not the one who runs the party when big decision or life change is involve, I friendly allow it to enjoy an emotional 🍨 or 😢 for littler dramas, it keeps balance my wholeness, my shadow is welcome too because at the end of the day we all in this together and in my experience all play a part. Knowledge only gets us so far. The only ways to elevate consciousness is by keeping awareness on itself or on silence.... Nissargadata teaches to focus on the feeling I AM. If you do this long enough the “I AM” will dissolve and all that’s left is silence, emptiness..... the perfume of this silence and vastness is all encompassing Love and Bliss, a peace that is incomprehensible! Thank you Aaron for shining your beacon. There seems to be many steps.... it Truly boils down to we either give ourselves to silence or we don’t.... ❤️❤️❤️

Oh yes! I lived in China for four years and I would always hear the word “never mind” or “doesn’t matter”. I loved that. I have since adopted these words because it would just discard or forgive whatever arose.
This is really important topic, I am trying to stay spiritually grounded, this whole thing is Really a trip. To learn all this stuff is mind blowing and to know what to BELEIVE when all you want is the Truth. This is hard sometimes when you want Peace of mind, think you've found it then the Ego comes back and said "Oh No No No! You don't get off that easy...."

In addition to asking, "Who cares?", one might also ask, "Who is it serving - self or other selves?"

I've been SO feeling that the mystical experiences and "downloads" don't matter at all. They're interesting and beautiful, but I'd rather just wake up and serve others. No one needs to know, and ACTUALLY, my sharing could be detrimental for others. They might believe that they aren't "getting it". It's silliness

I needed this for sure. I’ve been pretty good at being aware of the thoughts which come from Ego and sending them on their merry way, but this morning I found myself dealing with an old thinking pattern due to someone not responding to my text right away. A narrative begins and immediately I think “they must be mad at me, I should apologize”. As I sat in silence my true self was like….apologize for what? And just like in the end of the scooby doo cartoons, I pulled the mask off this suffering thought and low and behold….it was the ego. Not this time, ego. I’m done listening to your imaginary narratives that give me knots in my stomach. Thank you, Aaron. The “who cares” is my new comeback to the thoughts which are not mine.

At first I tried telling people in my family who either didn't believe me are thought I was on drug or going crazy. Now I just keep it to myself.

Indeed. Of course this triggers my ego because how can I evolve without doing the work to get there? This is important but feels like only one side of the story. You did lots of work to get where you are as a guide. Life is about the experience of living and the change within from that experience as we come to understand/remember that we are part of God. The opposite of doing is inertia. So, we must do the necessary work to evolve our consciousness - even if that means learning to unlearn how we learn and who we think we are.

One of the things I’ve been exploring is that sometimes when I feel the urge to share before something has fully integrated and been baked into my system, is that there is often a worthiness piece there as well that is coming up. Like, “wow I just received this beautiful gift of this download! Now I must give it away immediately because I’m not worthy of it.”
Staying quiet and fully integrating what I receive is my major act of self-love these days. ❤️

Other people killed my spiritual ego a long time ago... Someone used to call me the guru and I don't wanna be a guru.... I just wanna be little ole me.... Whichever little ole me I'm being at the time... meditation is a way of gaining more energy or making myself feel better.... That's it....everytime I felt enlightenment... It didn't last long so I just gave up... I like who I am.... As long as I can talk to God and enjoy my life I'm happy.... And I also found that I'm exactly the same person I was in the first place with the exact same personality and the exact same humour.... Im just a better creator.... And before you think my spiritual ego wrote thar last sentence... Most people would say artist.... God loves to create through me.... And you it seems.... I love the way you explain things...its easy..😁.. My ego is saying I need to sleep now so goodnight...😁

Great video Aaron. I remember at the beginning of my spiritual formation the need to demonstrate what I learned, many times sharing information with people who were even not prepared to listen to it. Over time these patterns become conscious, through the same consciousness that knows what to say to each individual and when to help them, without the need to shine above the rest, because in the end, there is no rest.
One trick I use and I realized that the self has had spiritual awakening for countless times. Over and over. Nothing new. Just simply remembering
