- Bought myself a 1/18 maverick Atom.
What do I think of it?
Well, it’s a great entry level for a child.
Can’t go too fast and won’t be able to break much on it.
It is slow for what it is, but looks good and handles great.
Will be definitely doing some upgrades to this. Including a brushless setup and better shock.
But one step at a time.

Got one of these yesterday, havent found a pinion to fit my brushless motor yet, cant wait to see your conversion!
Yeah awesome . The pinion will be pretty small. As it’s got a fixed slot for the motor. Brushless upgrade coming later on.
Good video. I would be willing to bet that if you tried to run that stock 2 in 1 board on 3S, you would see the magic blue smoke.
Oh yes for sure. That’s why for now I’m just getting a brushed 3S esc installed. Then later in will get the full brushless upgrade. 👍🏼🚗
