yeah looks like thats the cause of the overheating. Def be converting it to a XT90

Yeah going to have to change the connector. i would say that is getting all the heat then transfering it down the cables to the esc. a small error, but easily fixed. Thanks., yeah great spot, il def get you out there next time for a bash.

The gears are accessible with a screwdriver, there's lots of videos on how to get to the gears/diff if you search hbx 16889, the esc plug is Mini tamiya, but you will want to you buy a mini tamiya T plug adapter(male to male) online, most 2s batteries come with a t plug.

@@MechanicallyFun yeah ran pretty straight. I was very surprised like I said everything was stock standard. I didn’t even touch any of the suspension at all so straight out as I had it and going nice and straight

@@philthyco1 locked both diffs, gyro, stiffen the suspension so no bumpsteer, turn down steering endpoint and foam tyres. Still no luck😂 the only thing that I have not try is the metal drive shaft, I just don't see how metal drive shaft will prevent the car spinning around but will give it another try one of these days. well its run ok for me on the stock 3s for quite some time now. i have now upgraded the ESC to as hobbywing 50amp one. only because i ran it on 4S as a test and it got me to half throttle. so yeah it can also do 4S for a little bit and seems like its pretty capable on 3S. thanks for watching👍🛻

@@joshread3740 yeah def will get a bit hot. But the speeds are amazing. I’ve bashed with it on 3S and haven’t had an issue, o my because your not constantly at full throttle the whole time. 👍🏼🚗

@@angesrcs that's a good point. Plus it's not like the ESC is a super expensive replacement part or anything if it did happen to burn up. But yeah you're right, 3S is just insane with it and makes it hard to resist, lol.

I just bought mine a few weeks back, connected a 3s 65C battery and had a good few runs with it before ESC gave in. Just waiting for my new 45 3S ESC to arrive.

@angesrcs you can only use stock or 22t pinion, its a spin around mount, but yeah you should get at least 90 then👌

You can only try. Mine was ok. I even just as a test ran it on 4s and it lasted about 5 seconds!.

Get the carbon fiber chassis if you didn’t already, it’s a much stronger one. Make sure you shim the diffs. Get rid of all the sloppiness. And don’t run it on 4s. The riffs will last longer on 3S. Hope this helps. 👍🏼🚗

It was my first car too. I bought it more for its looks that its durability. Mine still runs, but stays on the shelf a bit more than the others. Oh and get some metal swing arms too. 👍🏼🚗

I made it myself. It’s just a strip of 2mm soft steel alluminium and then I bent into shape and drilled some Holes for the post holes. 👍🏼🚗

Yeah the springs are like really firm but super bouncy. Don’t know why they still make friction shocks. 🙁. Yeah let’s see how those swing arms hold up hey!. 👍🏼🚗
