  • INGREDIENTS
1 cup hominy, washed over a strainer
    5 cups water
    Cinnamon sticks (I used 2)
    1 tsp salt
    5 tbsp sugar (or less)
    1 cup evap milk / a 250ml box
    1 nutmeg, grated
    2 tbsp vanilla
    1 tsp cinnamon
    1/4 tsp almond extract (optional)
    To a blender:
    3 tbsp flour
5 tbsp coconut powder (I used a whole pack)
Evap milk and/or water (evap milk is KEY)
    Add condensed milk for sweetening
If porridge is too thick, add evap milk instead of water to get desired consistency

I’m upset that no one told me it would be this easy to make. I’ve been going all my adult life buying this in restaurants cuz I didn’t know it was this easy.

I made it with canned Hominy corn from Kroger--was awesome...just had to soak and remove the sodium and not add any sodium to the porridge.

What brand corn were you using? I used grace and the corn was very chewy and I boiled it for 2hrs because the time stated wasn’t enough time

We boil our corn for hours prior to doung that to make sure it cooks properly.
We add condensed milk and powdered milk not coconut milk.
Interesting another way to make it.

I hope you watched other videos and was able to get the answer. If not, you can soak the corn in water overnight and then boil it in a regular pot. Or just buy canned hominy corn.
