The Reason why Wizkid goes by StarBoy is because he was having problems with his label not allowing him release music so He started his own starboy label, changed his name, put features on every song just so he can please his fans

Since signing his mega Sony deal Wizkid has been cautious with songs released under the Wizkid name. Wizkid decided since then to release song meant for his Nigerian fans and audience under the STARBOY name. Most of the song released under Wizkid is gear towards the American and the West market. The decision to have have 2 separate stage name is strictly for business purpose to cater for 2 different market.

Wizkid is his stage name, while Starboy is the name of his record label...so the two names are just referring to the same person.
he started with wizkid at about 18years, when he got into his twenties he wasnt too comfortable with "kid" so he switched to star boy but the wizkid stuck to him so he ended up calling himself the two names, he later started a record label that he named starboy but got himself in a legal battle with the weekend (american RnB pop artist) cause the weekend felt he is the original starboy wiz won the case and here we are.
