- VOLUME-5:- AUTO RECLOSER RELAY FULL EXPLANATION
Principle of Operation:-
The relay receives the fault initiation from the protection relay and that triggers the auto reclose function. After tripping the circuit breaker (CB), the Auto reclose function can reclose the CB. Normally , the first reclose (or shot) is so short in time that consumer cannot notice anything . However the fault is cleared and the feeder will continue in normal service. Even though the basic principle of Auto reclose is simple, there are a lot of different timers and parameters that have to be set.

if you have a time then please try to make one video on over-current relay testing.
Reclaim time is the time when the closing pulse is sent to CB. Typically this is 22 seconds. Within these 22 seconds, the Autorelcloser function remains blocked in the relay.
There are two main logic behind this reclaim time function. Firstly to block the Autoreclose function for permanent fault. The second attempt for closing the CB is blocked. Secondly, if the auto recloser is successfully completed in the first attempt, the second attempt of the auto recloser should not take place within 22 seconds.
