I think I will love this lipstick above all because they created the forever cherie shade that I always liked but never bought precisely because it is always mettalic .. But the background of color I have always liked is a redwood more than a simple rosewood has a touch of red . Thanks you are always very simple and gracious in explaining. 🌹

These are impressive! They all look great on you, but I’m favoring the color you’re wearing, 866. I also love reds with blue undertones, so 742 is irresistible. Sadly, I can’t wear nudes; I look ill in paler shades. It’s definitely worth having a transfer proof lipstick - or two. Awesome review!

i always have the reds I'm drawn to- usually more orangey reds, but I really like the intense reds you pick. I got that 1879 fr guerlain and I want the 866!
The Guerlain reds are still my favorite but 866 is stunning and you can’t beat the performance.

I swatched them individually and posted them on the community tab so you can see them side-by-side. They are both pretty neutral with no strong blue or pink tones. I think they are both gorgeous shades!

I can’t find the lip liner Chanel 188 Brun Carmin anywhere! Do you have any other lip liners that would go with 866 forever together or Givenchy 37. I’m loving the deep red lipsticks!!
I'm really having a hard time finding something like brun carmin. It was discontinued. Check out this video and see if you like any of these reds: czcams.com/video/5Nwkisj-_Q0/video.html and I think I have a few others here: czcams.com/video/v926P2sYv7Y/video.html. I think the hourglass is my favorite alternative, Lisa Eldridge Jazz is another good option.
This was helpful, thank you 🙏🏽 How do they compare to the Lisa Eldridge matte formula (aka the chocolate-icing-with-not-enough-butter formula)? 😆 My main concern with matte lipsticks is that they don’t make me look like I have dried prunes for lips, emphasizing lip lines. You don’t have quite as many lip lines as I do so I suspect I’d need a smoothing balm on top or as a base.
Lol! These are longer-lasting and not as drying imo. They really feel like you don't have anything on your lips. They also feel sturdier than the Lisa Eldridge lipsticks. These are compatible with a balm on top or underneath ime.

Not at all! I wore the 866 all day yesterday and it did not fade noticeably. I have reapplied on other days and no issues with dryness or flaking.

I don't think they exacerbate dryness but they don't help it either. I think it is worth trying one. You can always use lip balm underneath or on top as well.

I am interested in picking up 300 and Forever Grace. These shades are also available in the liquid lipstick formula. Do you know if the formulas are different at all or if you have a preference on formula? Sometimes liquid lipsticks dry down darker on me, but with the Cle de Peau release earlier this year, those liquid lipsticks are great and true to shade. I would love to know your opinion.
Hi Sarah! I have some of the liquids here: czcams.com/video/6FnmaIhN5FA/video.html. Overall, they dry down a bit darker and the shades are not a perfect match imo. The liquid lipsticks are great though.

Hi Lexi! Fantastic video! I really appreciate your opinion on these as you are the only one who has swatched two of the colors I'm hesitating to buy: either 742 Forever sisterhood or 866 Forever together. I want Forever sisterhood as it is a limited edition shade, but I get the feeling that Forever together is much closer in color to Violette_fr's Petal Bouche in Amour fou, which is my HG red. Which one should I get? I wish more people would compare Amour fou to other lipsticks. I LOVE the color, but bullet lipsticks are just easier to reapply on the go. So yes, basically, I am on the hunt for an Amour fou lipstick dupe in bullet form, but still long lasting XD

I would probably go for sisterhood though and hope that violette will have a bullet form soon in the same shade or check out the Guerlain shades because those are likely to be close. I have noticed that since she took over as creative director, the lipstick colors have more nuances and there have been some more daring shades. I'll be on the lookout for a bullet form dupe!

You have probably the best eye and explanation of color. I can’t stand it when companies name their colors poorly. “Brick red” often time has mauve in it! I get so irritated at the “perfect” red lipstick that is really a muddy berry color!! Or looking at a brown lipstick and it is really a muddy mauve. 🥴 I need money to hire a cosmetic chemist and make perfect shades!!😂

Hi Lexi. Since Chanel Velvet Extremes are discontinued, would you be able to think if a comparable shade to 118 Eternel comes to mind? I really like the tone of that lipstick and would love to find something similar, even if it is not matte.

Then your best bet is to apply a gloss on top of this or use the Chanel Ultra Tenue Duos if you want something transfer proof.

That is odd! Maybe try adding a layer of translucent powder? Do you remember the old trick of putting a tissue on your lips and then adding powder on top of the tissue so you get the tiniest amount? It's possible that it is a humidity issue or something like that and the powder could help.
I feel like I did something wrong - I just got four of these and put one of them on. I went to kiss my hand and it made a huge lip mark. Do I need to wait to let it set? When I went to take it off I just wiped off with a tissue. Am I the freak that these don’t work on? 🤣
That is so weird. Try waiting a minute or two and let me know if that helps. I always give things like this a couple of minutes.
