    For display purposes such as events like this, consider mounting a mirror over the jig so people can see what's going on in that machine without having to get over the table.👍🏻

    Not to spread interest too wide, but Dan Hurd's latest vid shows a jig in action at an active placer mine. I have to say the jig is very efficient. I wish you well in your endeavour.

    Another tip to consider is having a graphic made up showing the layers, how it would look if you used a window for a Split View of the action. It would make it easier for some people to grasp the concept. You could print that on corrugated plastic size 24”x 36” at Staples or Office Depot or online. It’s cheap plus durable enough to be moved from show to show.
    I have a question. Are the shot magnetic?

    • @RiverdanceGoldMining
      @RiverdanceGoldMining  Před 10 měsíci +1

      The shot is carbon steel or stainless steel. It is magnetic (can be picked up with a magnet)

    • @RICDirector
      @RICDirector Před 9 měsíci +1

      It is ferrous, not magnetic. Tbe shot would itself attract ferrous metals, were it magnetic. ;)

    Can the jig be disassembled and put in a backpack?

    • @RiverdanceGoldMining
      @RiverdanceGoldMining  Před 9 měsíci

      It is small and light enough to pack in “ready” configuration, but you could take the center module and motor assembly out of the frame if you wanted to.

  • @GilbertNichols
    @GilbertNichols Před 10 měsíci +1

    Do you have levels built into the frame so that the operator can ensure the machine stays level?

    • @RiverdanceGoldMining
      @RiverdanceGoldMining  Před 10 měsíci

      No built in level but it’s super easy to set a small level on top to get that done. I get great results just eyeballing level. Jigs are pretty forgiving at this scale.

  • @HummelJaeger

    Would it be possible to modify this to work without power? Maybe using mechanical energy from water flowing from a small refillable reservoir mounted above the unit.

    Can this separate quartz from corundum and diamonds?

    • @RiverdanceGoldMining
      @RiverdanceGoldMining  Před 2 měsíci

      @@FreshUF absolutely. They both have a higher specific gravity than quartz, so they will displace any quartz and be retained. It will be a slow process since the disparity is not as great as with gold.

    To me this just seems to sift the material. Both black sands and heavy stones remain with the gold.

    • @RiverdanceGoldMining
      @RiverdanceGoldMining  Před 9 měsíci +1

      You aren’t wrong, but allow me to clarify. Mineral jigs separate by size and specific gravity using less water than a sluice box and trapping more gold, especially fine gold. Yes, there will be black sand in the concentrates but exponentially less than with a sluice or some other system and this machine is self cleaning so you don’t have to stop to clean out nearly as often. Plus, you get at least two separate size concentrates (the more stages you use, the more separation and less black sand) so those stones you mentioned will only be in the tray which is limited to about half a pan of material no matter how many buckets or lbs/kilos you run.

    Hey mirror and maybe dont make ppl wait 10 mins. 😅

  • @billhamilton5498
    @billhamilton5498 Před 8 měsíci

    I had to laugh a little. It is just a duplex jig and I doubt there is any Patten on it that this guy owns. You usually use them for for the first stage of clean up. If you took this to the beach of Nome it would over load it self with black sand in ten minutes. it would be good in the desert with small gravels and rocks but a place to shovel onto and then wash into the jig would be best.

    • @RiverdanceGoldMining
      @RiverdanceGoldMining  Před 8 měsíci

      Jigs aren’t new, but they’ve never been this portable, and they are now configurable into multiple stages using the same drive system. That has never been done before. I think you’d be surprised just how versatile these machines are. My jigs have been used for clean out in the Bering Sea with loads of the black sand you mentioned, for processing crushed ore to recover gold and scheelite in CA, running beach sand in Kenai, all with outstanding results. Until the screens are impacted with gold, you can keep running and running for hours on end. The screens are now removable so when the tray fills with gold (like during a Bering Sea dredge clean up) it literally takes seconds to swap out and get running again. I hope you’ll check back in as we post more videos this summer and more customers post videos as well.
