- I got the KX back in shape with a new top end, I also set the timing and performed a leak down test before slamming it back in the bike.

15 years ago this video would have been a great help to me. That being said it is still a help to KX65 owners even today. Thanks for another great how to video.
Thanks for the support!
I just overhauled the carburettor on my sons KX65 A1 (2000) and thought I was pretty good. Your videos leave me in the dust! Excellent work man
Thank you! These are awesome little bikes aren't they?
@@GarageAddiction definitely fun.
Great video. I'm getting ready to put a new top end in my son's bike this week and this was an excellent preview/how to.
Thanks, have fun with your top end job!
so underrated
Hi m8 enjoying your kx vlogs you have inspired us to get kx 65 just wondering if you could do a vlog on wheel change to mags detailing spacers etc
THENKS FOR THE VIDEO...BR FROM SLOVENIA(EUROPE)
Hope it was helpful!
What does drilling the extra hole in the piston do? I’m binge watching your videos so I’m prepared for this rebuild😂
Supposedly helps oil the exhaust bridge. I've run with and without one, haven't seen a clear difference. Good luck with the rebuild!
Dziękuję! Regards !
There is 3 dowels that go round the studs that secure the cylinder to the cases. Yours are missing
Ah yeah just looked at the parts fiche, looks like the 05 has 2 on the right side case. Good eye, I'll add that to my list for the next rebuild!
Is Boyko still in business? If not who would you send your jug and cylinder head to for similar work?
Boyko is definitely still in business, highly recommend him if you're in the area or want to ship. I hear millennium tech is also great but I have no experience with them.
I would love to send my 05 kx65 motor to you and pay you to rebuild mine! Let me know if that’s a possibility please
I think you'd have a far cheaper and easier time bringing it to a local bike shop. Shipping alone would be nuts on one of these engines.
@@GarageAddiction yeah I think your right. Well anyways. I believe I can do the top end myself now with your videos there to help. I took off the piston and wrist pin and that bearing yesterday. I’m really hoping I don’t have to mess with the bottom end but the crank has a lot of left and right wiggle. That’s not goofs right?
@@GarageAddiction good*
Some side to side play is normal there should be no pay up and down though
@@GarageAddiction i do have about 1/8” up and down play 😖
