I'm Algerian and i had the chance to visit this magnificent country twice. not gonna lie but SHARAM EL SHEIKH is something else i've experienced a lotta things there and i made so many egyptian friends, really nice ppl. MUCH LOVE FROM ALGERIA ❤

13:12 that was "El mansheya" one of the places where you can find everything for lower prices, school supplies, toys, seasonal decorations , makeup and accessories in the side street called "zan'et el settat/zan'ah" which translates to " women's narrow alley" ,spices.. you name it, it's there 😂 the gold stores street is where couples who are planning to get married soon come to choose their "Shabka" or the proposing rings/gold sets

I met an Egyptian girl in Langkawi, Malaysia 2018, we stayed in the same hostel, she was giving away necklaces, bracelet during her last evening to our small group during poker games, she gave me a pair of belly dancer hand bells. I now know what kind of place she shopped ;) She brought gifts knowing she'll be making new friends during her journey. I tried to email her but haven't heard back from her, I hope she is well.

I am also impressed by how you enjoyed food that you’re not familiar with ! Not a lot of people will enjoy new food from the first try. You’re right Egyptian food is delicious!!!
I think the barber's pricing was reasonably fair. Kudos to him for being honest.
I got second-hand anxiety when you were in the barber shop. 😶 How do you do it? You know, being a foreigner, very little Arabic, going to places I wouldn't go as an Egyptian? You're probably one of, if not the bravest tourist on CZcams.

Him going to the barber shop reminded me of routes of transmission of bloodborne infections that I am studying now specifically Hepatitis C

I am from Alexanderia and currently living in the UK to have medical training. Believe me people, there is no place on this earth or in the outer spaces that has this overwhelming, amazing, historical and unexplained feeling that u will experience there. Go visit this city, u will never regret it.

The barber meant 35 Egp = 2.3 dollars.. the 150 that you gave him is a way too much.. good that he didn't take adventage of you and gave you back 100

he may have meant 53 (which is a lot but eh) because in arabic saying 53 is like saying 3 and 50
I was worried about the barber he is old fashion and you have nice hair but he did a good job and the price is fair the lowest price in Egypt is 30 to 100 or more you gave him more and he gave it back to you
Damn, in the Netherlands you pay for hair and beardcut about 25 euro’s around 28 dollars..
That barber was asking for 30 pounds. You were accidentally generous with him and he was somewhat honest with you. Nice haircut by the way
30 is so cheap here in giza you walk out of barber shop paying at least 50 pounds for just hair cut

You're in one of the most precious cities in the world. Alexandria was an emblem of a human paradise on Earth. It was built by Alexander the Great and it was meant to be the capital of his empire, but unfortunately he died in a young age and he couldn't see his dream come true.
Later on, Alexandria was the place where the world's two greatest cultures collided, the ancient Egyptian and the Greek. Its bibliotheca was a source of enlightenment to the whole world.
Then in the late 19th century, Mohamed Ali started to restore the glory of this magnificent ancient city. It became a promising land where you can start from rags to riches. It became the destination to many Europeans, especially, Greek, Italian, and Areminan, who populated the city in great numbers and built their own communities. Thus, Alexandria bcame a cosmopolitan city where people from different nationalities lived together in perfect harmony. The old buildings that you captured in the video are traces of the old cosmopolitan Alexandria.
