"Power" is one of those gems that always lifts my mood. Thanks so much for this. You always come up with things I hadn't noticed. Two others in a similar vein are his cuts with Eden Nash, "Humble" and "Ocean." Both are complete and utter BANGERS that will live rent free in your head forever. Maybe do them together as they are both 3-minute lyric videos? Anyway, CHEERS!
Yes - if pressed, I would pick Ocean especially because others have tried and failed to identify the musical “sample” that opens and closes the song. Soundhound didn’t recognize it either. Maybe Knox can sleuth his way to an answer where others have failed. Did Ren create the sample out of whole cloth? Inquiring minds need to know!

I love this one. There's a really good vibe to it and the words are so relatable. I understand from an interview with Ren that he made this in a week - and that his friend in the car is Samuel. The Camera God who made most of his videos 👍🔥
That dude next to him is his videographer samuel perry-falvey that was with him in videos like "sick boi", "hi, ren" and "the hunger".
This is my very favorite from Ren. It contains the powerful line" through the walls I heard love dying". Gets me every time, as does "it's the voice you hear when you loosen the noose on the rope" from Hi, Ren. I like his busking with the Big Push too. They're all so talented.

13:22 - I am so glad you finally did this one, man. Sick breakdown as always, and it's one of my go to feel good songs.
This one is just so much fun and has a terrific groove, but he still has a strong message at the core.
One fun fact about this video is he filmed it right after he left his record label with to phone cameras. He wanted to throw it back in their faces to show that he didn’t need their permission or support to promote his music and make a video of his own. So this video and song is his first step out into the world as an independent artist.
It was his management company not a record company by this time.
He was already independent since he got ill in his late teens. But this was filmed only a couple of years ago before he started recording the Sick Boi album 🙏🏼

That’s Sam, REN’s videographer behind the wheel. I believe this was the first vid he did after he went independent and since there was zero $$ to produce a video this was the idea they came up with. And it works so well.
I’m not sure you have gotten on the Dirt Miller kick yet, but Ren put us into him and his music is fire and it’s not even the kind of music I normally listen to

The guy driving the car is his film buddy Samuel Perry Falvey, who filmed the video for Hi Ren, The Tales of Jenny & Screech, and others. Samuel flew out to Calgary for 5 days to work on more new live video recordings. Can’t wait! They are a dynamic duo

One of my favourite Ren tracks, this makes me feel so good! The driver vibing with Ren is Samuel Perry-Falvey, his good friend and cinematographer of most of Ren´s most epic videos.

Power is one of the first tracks I heard from Ren, just after listening to What Went Wrong (which I do recommend listening to both the first and second parts of).
Such a great vibe and inspiring lyrics. It made me into a quick Fan of Ren.
I know the lyrics go deep but I absolutely adore fun Ren, and despite the deep content he’s having fun with it and I live it. Similar to his retakes like bitter sweet symphony

Talk about running through the emotions. It starts off like a anthem to crusing as a teenager with your buddies. Then he starts in on his past problems at home growing up. The lyrics "through the walls, I heard love dying" is just a punch in the gut.
