      +Clayton L I've never driven a 911 turbo s but the GTR (2013 black edition) I drove was much more fun around the track than an 06 Gallardo. And that was for much less money comparatively brand new. I think thats why you see reviewers compare to the top model Corvette and GTR so much. They're an amazing bang for your buck, just like the 911 appears to be.

      997 dryvr I'm sorry to inform you that you are wrong, sir. Let me explain. I am not supposing that you could get a NEW Turbo S (although I suppose if you were a true moron you could finance it for like 9 god damn years, but I digress), I am referring to a USED 2014/2015 turbo S (~$120000, in case you are curious). I live in the US, in KY specifically, where sales tax is nothing, and all the other taxes would total about 32k of that 95k. So, we are left with 63k. Now, where I live, a duplex can be had, fully renovated for ~110k. If you rent out one side and live in the other, that rent can pay for more than half of the mortgage. So figure ~6k/year left of mortgage to pay (this is assuming a ~10 yr mortgage). We are left with 57k. The average costs I found differ, so lets just say that health insurance is 3500/year. We are left with 54.5k. For utilities (all utilities combined) I found that they cost about 2000/year on average. We are left with 52.5k (notice how we've only used 10k of our net yearly income). And finally food. Even if the person spent 5$/meal eating out 3 times a day every day, food is still only 5500 bucks (a lot for food, but that is assuming you eat out, whereas the average home cooked meal is ~$1.50, which would total to $1650). We are left with $47.5k after ALL the things you mentioned on your list (these numbers could EASILY be cut down, by eating at home for example). Even if we still invested 20k/year into something, I could still put an 83k dollar down payment on that Turbo S, and all I would have to do is pay off my 37k in 1 more year. Now if I only invested 10k/year, I would be left just 8k short of that Turbo S. Of course you have sales tax and registration etc (which in KY would total about 8k as well, so relatively cheap). Now of course, if we didn't eat out and instead made our own food, we would have 10500 dollars extra in the end, which would essentially pay for the whole car (123k total income, ~128k car), assuming a 10k/year investment. So I have basically proven that a Turbo S can be bought in 3 years at 95k salary, even when paying in cold hard cash.

      Why is the car so much more expensive in Canada? I'm guessing its due to Canada being more liberal and socialistic country than US, putting high taxes on luxury goods. If that is the case, that sucks for car enthusiasts, and as a system I feel like in a way it widens the gap between the rich and poor....

      Uhhhh what? No you don't. Try 90k a year. Save 40k per year from that 90k (which is easily doable, as after taxes you come out with ~58k left of that 90k , and you can EASILY live off of 18k per year) And after 2.5 years these 991.2 Turbo S's will be ~100k which is exactly the amount you just saved after 2.5 years. And there isn't even any debt owed to a bank! Heck, the 3 year old turbo s's are close to 100k, for porsche certified low miles!

Maybe its 180k in america but here in europe this car is waaay more expensive and less affordable. Its almost in the same price range as a 458 here in europe.

      TheMightyWill I love Porsche, but I'd rather have a cayman gt4 than this turbo s for the fun

      You can't say "I'd honestly rather have a Lexus" and then pull out an LFA. That's like saying "I'd rather drive a Toyota than a Volkswagen. By which I mean an Lexus ISF". One you prefer is already obviously better so the fact that you prefer it doesn't mean anything

    Over a gtr!!! My man are you insane. I'd never over a gtr. This 911 is great but not over a gtr and not in terms of solely performance okay.

      so how did he do it in 2.6 sec? Maybe the turbo s in the video is tuned...

      @xtravisxmanx Před 8 lety +2

      Labatsports Apparently Porsche is very conservative when they released the 0-60 time. You can check out the Motor Trend review. They got a 0-60 of 2.6s.

      That was the most hypocritical comment I think I've ever seen. GTR fanboys are known for trolling on videos, which is precisely what you do. By the way, no one cares about your preferences on the GTR. Take your comments elsewhere.
