Thank you for your informative video man. I am wondering how much the mpg or l/100 Km when you are cruising behind semi-trucks or bus safely with Laser-adaptive-cruise control? In my test with older Auris 2015 at 100 Km/h , I got 3.5 L/100 Km when maintaining distance about 4 cars behind the semi-trucks. At 100km/h without any car in front, I only get 4.2L/100 Km. Wind drag is proportional to velocity square, therefore at higher speed above 80 Kmh, the MPG start dropping.

this test is at last very a sincere one and shows exactly what lies behind the hybrid system 's fuell consumption, which is by far not small. My Mercedes CLS 350 D Shooting Brake (3 liter V6 turbodiesel,258 HP,620 Nm torque) consumed 9,5 liters at 180-220 kmh,at 140-160 kmh 8-8,5 litres.Nom comment. At my test drive this Corolla took 8,9 liters in average. On the highway over 10 liters at 160-170 kmh.In the city however max.5 litres. This is an "UBER" car.But if you drive a lot on the highway over 130-140 km only the benzin engine is working.Forget low consumption then. And great wind noise over 130 kmh,I tried 3 such cars all were the same.

@@rightlanehog3151 VAT does not account for the FULL difference in price. Manufacturers charge what the market can bear, and the UK seems to have always suffered in this regard.
For example the US Corolla Hybrid costs $23,100 USD (@1.28 about GBP £18,046). I know there may be equipment level differences, but I would prefer to have that and pay the US price.
So the difference in price is $40,300 minus $23,100 = $17,200
Less the VAT (in USD equivalent on $40300) = $6716
Other price difference not attributable to VAT = $10485 [manufacturers charging what the market can bear - which is my point]

Real world fuel consumption: 1.8 is 5.0l/100km, 2.0 is 5.4l/100km. One advantage of 1.8 is that it can be LPG fitted (like 600-700€, for 2.0 price is more that 4k€, so no reason).
