It is good to see this level of a complete conversion system available in the US finally. I agree with keeping the original transmission in the car, that is the personality of the car far more than the engine ever was. I love the look of the motor with the battery boxes on the sides, that resembles the original 6. Will you be selling parts of kits? My car are already converted, but I like the look of your parts. I have my rear packs on each side of the motor in my 914. I should point out the sight tubes on those coolant tanks seem to leak after a few years. I just removed the sights and sealed them with plugs. I think that is the extent of repairs on one of our conversions in the last 6 years.

Thank you for the kind words and feedback! Our battery packs are sold separately. They are new, OE batteries with 8 3S4P VDA battery modules per pack coupled to insulated busbars. Our coolant connectors are OE-spec and are quick-connect design, and you can choose their directional orientation. The enclosure is made of carbon-Kevlar-fiberglass for lightweight and strength, and you can mount the packs in any configuration. Four packs can be linked for up to 73 kWh. Please email us or give us a call for more info, and we'd love to see your conversion!

I’ve seen other great conversions of Porsches that remove the transaxle completely.
    This is a new twist.

Thank you. Our mission is to repower classics while retaining the elements that give the car its soul.

Awesome job guys! I wish you guys were closer to MD...I would love to work with you on my 2007 Porsche Cab. This is the level of refinement I would want in my project when completed

Thank you for the kind words! We do not currently have the 2007 Porsches in development. We are developing the Mercedes R109 chassis currently, but please visit our site and sign up for our email list to get news and products updates! www.appevsystems.com

Is this the one that just caught on fire recently?

No, that's not this vehicle. Our system is engineered.

What is the weight difference of the car from original engine configuration to installing your system? Also what is the weight difference the from the original engine bolted to the transaxle and your electric motor bolted to the transaxle. Porsches notably have oversteer. Does this balance the front and back end of the car evenly, thus improving oversteer?

Looking at their website it looks to be 300 pounds heavier than stock for the version of 911 they converted. Original 911's varied in weight 150-200 pounds depending on the configuration. Usually the front battery box is about 100 pounds heavier than the full fuel tank it replaces on a rear engine car.

Thanks for the reply @dennelson6980! Yes, it is slightly heavier (approx. 300 lbs.), but this weight increase is offset by the increase in power, although we also provide a power map that replicates the factory engine power and delivery if you are feeling nostalgic. 🙂 Driving characteristics are relatively unchanged aside from noticeably more stiffness in the chassis thanks to the front and rear carbon fiber subframes. There is more balance, with just a hint of understeer.
