    Saiki loves Sailor Moon anime so the style at the end is very much like that. I believe a smaller company produced it using their ideas. The idea of the story is the history of the Band. The start is based on the early MVs of the band. The black cloud is Covid and them being stuck as we all were. Then they become live and fight off boredom and depression. They do live on line concerts. Hence people watching them on screen. Then the end is them returning to World Domination as the super heroes they are. But there are so many hidden Easter Eggs like Akane and Bananas and Misa and her flask of drink. That it is worth watching several times. Dum dum di di dum dum is the next thing to get stuck in the head.

      disagree slightly - it's the story of the 2 years of Covid. They start off trapped in their videos (each member represented in one of their MV's), Miku aka Cluppo rescues them in the first year, Online Concerts, Saiki gets them going in the second year and then finally they are free and Unleash!!!!! . Studio Eight Colours did the animation , they are a new company less than 2 years old. For the story of the Band in a song it's Manners for which there is a live version paired with Black Hole, two very different songs.

      @@edwardallen4051 I think it's both - the early MVs are them struggling to make it and all the doubts they faced, the shining light is the success and recognition they ended up building, then they break through and stand triumphantly on the ground, looking forward to the future, including the milestone live shows they had lined up.
      Then the dark cloud of covid hits, the shows and all their plans get cancelled, all the momentum is lost, and instead of being able to tour and perform to crowds they're trapped in an empty room, playing live shows for a camera crew. The dream's collapsed and this is their reality - which is why they're all so despondent (and I know they've talked about how hard it was playing those shows).
      But they start to pick up as they realise they can still perform and connect with people - everyone's still out there watching and enjoying their music, they just can't see them. Their confidence builds up as they move forward and they end up ready for the next chapter, to blow away the clouds that have been hanging over them and the rest of the world. And they end up where they were standing before, looking to the future again. No matter "how many times" it happens, they're still chasing their dreams. And that's the story of the band!

    The lyrics are about their frustrations being locked down during the pandemic and finally being able to UNLEASH themselves onto the world again. By the way, there’s 5 exclamation points, one for each member of the band. My personal interpretation of the MV itself is about the Band-Maid history. The dark clouds in the beginning depict their struggles early on. At 0:11 Kanami punching the wall in tears was an incident in the very early formation when Miku and Saiki showed up very late for practice. Kanami cried because she thought Miku wasn't serious about the band. Misa at 0:19 putting down her pick is maybe because she almost quit in the early days. Miku's red rose blooms at 0:21, things are starting to look good. Then Miku at 0:24, going hard on playing Thrill by herself, a reference to the long hours of practice she had to do to learn how to play. Miku looks determined and satisfied that the band is ready for the world at 0:29. Thrill MV goes viral and saved the band and at 0:31 she turns into a pigeon and they start to take flight. Right when Saiki sings SHOWTIME at 0:43, Misa takes a drink of her whiskey, Akane eats her banana and Kanami is full of hearts as Saiki flies in, just like in their concerts. The maids flying across the sky in bright sunlight while playing their instruments at 0:49 shows them on their many successful world tours. They land triumphantly on a Western US desert mountain at 0:55 which I think was a reference to their 2019 tour of NYC, Dallas and LA. However, they haven't planted their flag at that point. They are soon engulfed in black smoke again, which is the Covid pandemic that pretty much happened not too long after they got back to Japan from that US tour. The next scene with them looking dejected in the studio at 1:03 was perhaps about the cancellation of the Budokan concert, which would have been their largest ever venue, due to the pandemic. They start playing again with their online shows during the lockdown and the people are watching at 1:49 from their homes on their computers, phones and TV. The transformation to the super heroes may be a reference to Sailor Moon that Saiki always says is her favorite Anime. In the final scene, back to the Western US mountain, I think is a direct reference to their current US tour, but this time they triumphantly plant their flag, claiming Domination of the US. Yes, they are in fact dominating the stage in all the cities they have been touring this past month (12 cities all across the US), as well as the largest rock concert, Aftershock, in California.

    • @andreaspedersen3952
      @andreaspedersen3952 Před rokem

      Very on point! There is this point where they are being transformed to themselves. Looking quite apathetic.. then we see Saiki is taking the microphone... is this about her taking more centerstage, when she sees Miku who like always been the one cheering, being affected by the situation?

  • @marloforreal
    @marloforreal Před rokem +2

    When they do their next European tour, both of you should go! I finally got to see them for the first time here in the US twice this month. There were dads who brought their kids to the concert and they had a great time.

  • @Ephem13
    @Ephem13 Před rokem +6

    The video tells the story of Band-Maid. One of the first times the band met in real life, Miku and Saiki were late. Kanami got very upset because she felt they didn't take the band seriously. Misa contemplated leaving the band because she was hesitant to even join. They were even on the verge of being dropped by their label until the song Thrill blew up on YT.
    They spent years slowly gaining popularity and creative control over the band, then just as they wrapped up a US tour and things were really rolling for them, covid hit. They found a way to navigate the three year lockdown Japan had on music venues and have been going BIG since. A big show in Japan followed by Aftershock festival in US. Then went on a coast to coast tour of the US. They are also diving into a full blown tour opening for Guns and Roses in Japan with very little break after US tour.
    I went to their show in Dallas, Texas. Stood right in front of Misa for two hours, don't even think my ears have recovered yet and couldn't care less because they killed it.

    The Unleash!!!!! anime seems to show the black cloud of covid enveloping the world and depressing everyone, including B-M members, who'd fought against their cancelled tours, including a Budokan concert, by performing live and streaming the concerts worldwide (bless them for that). The Little Pigeon seems to energise the band to keep playing this way for now...but then a second wave of darkness appears and even Miku can't get everyone together again. Then it seems that Saiki becomes the strong centre for the band and, while all except Saiki look lost as the live shots start, the other members seem to be inspired by how Saiki keeps fighting through and this energises the other band members to start playing again, with people around the world watching on various screens. Then, for the final piece of anime, the ladies use their spaceship to blast away the covid cloud and save the world. Or it all means something else entirely!

    Band-Maid of late has this certain phenomenon thing going regarding their more progy-punk hard rock and Anime written tunes. These songs are hard, complex and will totally grow on you like a thousand pound R&R leech. The Maids in this format are relentless and powerful. Their new “AniMaid” (anime) Covid-fighting MV and new battle gear is exciting, meaningful and classy! As Maidiacs report: Maid Music will continue to dominate the world until everyone succumbs in ecstasy to its brilliant and undeniable forces!!!!! 💥🎀💥 Thx, G&M!

    The young lady is partially right. The video tells the story of Band Maid and the pandemic. The anime maids get overtaken and separated by the darkness of the pandemic and shutdowns. When they reunite as a band in the real world, at first they are discouraged and listless. They buildup confidence and become themselves, keeping the light alive through their online performances. The light grows and they transform into to our beloved heroes and vanquish the darkness. “Unleash” is a great song and the video is so captivating, one forgets that the song is only 3 minutes long ! Good review.

    Great reaction, guys!! The best explanation of the video I’ve seen was done by Wave Potter. Wave breaks down each scene of the video and explains it. It’s essentially a recap of how they dealt with the pandemic. Btw, they are touring the US right now - we’ll, only 2 shows to go. Then they go home to Japan and open for Guns N Roses on Nov 6!
    Take care and unleash!! ✌🏼🤘🏼

    Band-Maid fans notice a lot of hidden clues in this video. The one that's most poignant to me is at 1:19 where Miku is shown (Alone) in the original 2014 video Thrill where she couldn't play guitar at that point and to reflect on how far she has come since then. Also At 2:12 Kanami with hearts around her when she's close with Saiki since every fan knows that Kanami is in love with Saiki.

    Welcome aboard, Greedy & Moobag. You have been embarking on (along with many others - 150 million YT views plus over 30 million reactor plays!) an awesome, progressive, hard-rock journey with 5 incredible women. Here's my intro blurb for those who may be new to Band-Maid:

    BAND-MAID’s songs and sound beat with the heart and soul of all rockers. But you’ll also hear heavy influences of Prog, Punk, Metal and Pop, with nice touches of Blues, Jazz, Funk and Grunge. Sometimes they use multiple genres within the same song. Their Composition, Execution, Joy of Playing, Consistency (124 songs), Uniqueness, Charisma, Charm and, oh yeah, Cuteness factor, position them as becoming the hard rock Beatles of our time! In other words, they’re destined for mega-stardom.
    Each member's personalities are super interesting and their musicianship among the best. Their writing, arrangements and overall sound, especially guitar tones and drums, are kick-ass! Having seen them LIVE, I can honestly say their performance, sound, stage appearance, and band synergy is off-the-rails spectacular!
    Band-Maid is the only band in decades where I love nearly EVERY song they’ve done. I have over 70 favorites! "Thrill" (2014) is a great place to start: czcams.com/video/Uds7g3M-4lQ/video.html Their songs from albums Unleash, Unseen World, Conqueror, World Domination, Just Bring It, Brand New Maid, and New Beginning drive even more - Warning, No God, Different, Black Hole, Rinne, Blooming, Moratorium, Domination, Clang, Dice, Spirit, Don’t You Tell Me, Turn Me On, Fate, Play, Hide-And-Seek, Secret My Lips, Puzzle, Choose Me, I Can’t Live Without You, and on and on.
    But don’t miss out on their powerful, beautifully written, mid-tempo songs like Daydreaming, About Us, Anemone, Endless Story, PAGE, At The Drop Of A Hat, Mirage and Smile... or more punky like After Life, Don’t Let Me Down and Screaming… or funky like Bubble… or bluesy like Manners and The Dragon Cries… or poppy like Start Over… or a bit jazzy like Wonderland… or progressive like No God, Giovanni, and Black Hole… or cultural like the Band-Maiko series… or instrumentals like From Now On, Don’t Be Long, Onset, Without Holding Back and Going Nuts… or their many acoustic versions like Catharsis and Sayonakidori... and last but not least, their Anime hits like Sense, Glory and Unleash (from their own Anime MV (series?)): czcams.com/video/7LB_EPS48HE/video.html)
    And many songs are represented with over 40 well produced music videos. czcams.com/users/BANDMAID
    Most performances should be experienced from their LIVE audience & online OKYU-JI concerts:
     ONLINE OKYU-JI (Feb. 11, 2021) “No God” czcams.com/video/nAdWnIRjGak/video.html
     Tokyo's LINE CUBE SHIBUYA on February 14th “Domination” czcams.com/video/QbyQCJn6rYg/video.html
     ZEPP 2018 “Real Existence” czcams.com/video/-qQnKILR5u0/video.html
     Shinkiba Studio Coast 2017 (Full concerts from the last two songs are on bandmaidprime.tokyo and DVD/BD/CD)
    And some of the better quality 2019 tour Fan vids are excellent. Here’s two of what it’s like to see Band-Maid LIVE at super intimate venues:
     Taken by Vladimir Chupin in Hamburg: czcams.com/video/__1th7ctgMo/video.html
     And by JOSER8845 in LA: czcams.com/video/usWZvlGGDSs/video.html.
    If you like Band-Maid, make sure to support them by purchasing some concert tickets, CD, DVD/BD & Merch, etc. bandmaid.tokyo
    Like most Band-Maid songs, I like them from the get-go but really start to appreciate them after more hearings and seeing their LIVE videos. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid.
    For fun, check out an awesome, little known "Mega Band-Maid Mix" by DJ Ray of some of their earlier stuff: facebook.com/djrayboston/videos/1004709499579009
    Band-Maid Members:
    Saiki Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “Ice Queen" - Lead vocals, arrangements and melodies. At 28 and the youngest, “Sensei” (Teacher) as band members call her, has the last word on many musical decisions. High-heels or sneakers, Sai-chan’s smile melts away her sometimes perceived, coldish persona. Saiki’s powerhouse performances, charisma, and voice focus the experience that’s driven her to the top echelon of hard rock frontwomen... or frontmen!
    Miku Kobato (Me-Ku) "Small Pigeon" - Rhythm guitar, vocals, lyricist, 31 years old. “Koba”, as Saiki calls her, is the Band founder and a firecracker MC & PR SpokesPigeon, po! Her “Magic Spell Time” charm and energy ignite the room. Kuruppo! No, no, no… KURUPPO!!
    Kanami Tono (Ka-Na-Me) “Princess” - Lead guitar, keyboards, 31 years old, is a prolific writer of most Band-Maid material. Kanami (translates “Song Wave”) is a possessed riff-slayer who’s so damn adorable it hurts. The only thing you want from Mincho is more!
    Akane Hirose (A-Ka-Nay) "Gorilla" - Drums, 31 years old, band energizer & co-clown with MISA. Achi’s talents include massive consumption of noodles and bananas, of course, (even during performance!) while revolutionizing rock drumming with relentless drive, dynamics and the kick. This “DrumZilla” is the Party!
    MISA (Me-Sa) "Barefoot Assassin" - Bass, 30 years old. An alluring free spirit driving her 5-string to rapturous low-ends while pulling off surprising counter leads with Kanami, off-stage MISA is the band’s goofball ballerina. Sometimes seen as the Mysterious One because she lets her instrument do the talking, the Assassin literally kills it… every note... uniting Band-Maid’s world-class rhythm section. A slug of JB, a slight grin, and let the slappin’ begin… MISA! MISA! MISA!
    Maidiacs (Maid-e-acts) - Band-Maid’s crazed yet supportive, knowledgeable and loyal Super Fans.
    [BAND-MAID NEWS]
     BAND-MAID PRIME - Special Video Distribution Website. Along with nearly 50 great play-through’s by each member, concerts and skits, Band-Maid management / label(s) have included the ZEPP 2018 and Shinkiba Studio Coast 2017 concerts! Great Reaction!
    If Moobag likes animated Videos I would highly recommend the song Animosity by The Warning
    czcams.com/video/LkAP-ydpTys/video.html
    The Warning is a female Rockband from Monterrey Mexico, that consists of the 3 sisters Daniela (22 years old ) called Dany on the guitar and lead vocals, Paulina (20 years old ) called Pau on the drums and vocals and Alexandra (17 years old) on Bass and Vocals.
    All 3 of them can also play Piano and Keyboard.
    They already released their third studio album with a lot of awesome music.
    And on top of that they were featured on the Blacklist Album from Metallica (to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Black Album) with their Cover of Enter Sandman together with Alessia Cara as the first Song.
    The song is awesome to and I would recommend to check it out.
