  • ‘Godzilla Minus One’ Changes Movies Forever - 15 million dollar budget!! 😳
    Hollywood, watch out! Japan’s Toho just released ‘Godzilla Minus One’ and the world is stunned. Visually, it looks incredible and the story is possibly the best we have ever seen from a Godzilla film.
    With box office hits not as reliable as they once were, studios are going to be need to tighten up and Godzilla Minus One just showed studios how.

    This is what happens when the already over paid actors and directors don’t over pay themselves and rather make a good movie because they know that’ll make them more money than pocketing 40% of the budget

    • @Bobby.2000
      @Bobby.2000 Před 6 měsíci +13

      Well that would be true, but actually the studio's greed is what led most actors and directors to demand more from the films budget to be paid upfront. Because it used to be standard that the actor would make money from the profits of film and make royalties. So would take a smaller fee upfront. Good business. Fair. You knew you would get your worth. But Hollywood studios just started tying up the profits spending it on "costs" for various things, so there were no profits. So the actors and directors were losing out big time. So they went for the gross.
      Another major issue with Hollywood is they have no imagination when it comes to marketing, so they spend a fortune on that when they really don't have to. Which adds much more pressure on the film making massive amounts of money just to break even. Which means the studios don't want to take risks, they just want to put out the same crap with an established brand over and over. They won't even make smaller movies.
      They also hire the flavour of the month actors in everything in a really short period of time, because they think people want to see the same person play everyone, rather than hire the best actor out there for the role. Which adds to their budget, and before long, law of averages that flavour of the month has a major flop, so suddenly you don't see them anymore after a few years. I've it's all about star power, not talent or art. Same goes for CGI.
      They massively over use CGI on everything, even films that just doesn't need it. Which costs millions, when if they just utilised the old school practical effects guys around, it'd save them a fortune and frankly be better for the viewers. Then of course they have also shot themselves in the foot with all the woke diversity nonsense, because they again are having to write all their films with some ridiculous politics in every script, often being treated more importantly than a good story or dialogue. Which makes it terrible, but also clearly leads to so many rewrites and even reshoots. While killing the word of mouth and directly turning viewers off, which hits their ticket sales. Constant female leads, even when it doesn't make sense, race swapping characters etc etc, fans don't like it, they don't like being lectured, they don't like the blatant hypocrisy of the message. So that has single handedly killed many films on arrival.
      They also have to hire people who are not necessarily the best at what they do behind the camera as well as in front because of this crap. Which affects quality and costs money.
      Another massive issue is the studios charge way too much to film in Hollywood. That's why so many films are made in England now, because it's so much cheaper to film there.
      Hollywood is a big gelatinous over inflated pile of crap, that wastes too much money, acts as some weird kind of propaganda tool for the highest bidder, has zero morals, rewards scumbags, allows pedos to run everything, thugs in suites to control and manipulate all the talent. They have virtually no creative merit anymore. Zero integrity. They represent evil in this world.
      But sure hopefully they stop all that and make some good low budget films.

      No, The issiue is most directors are very incompetent and get blank checks to fix everything later
      They spend too much on VFX that could have been done with practical effects, use VFX to cover up things that could have been fixed in a re-take, and change too many things last minute, leading to vfx workers having to rush everything

    Godzilla Minus One feels like Every Avengers movie rolled into one. Epic Action shots, Beautiful storytelling, Heart-Wrenching drama, everything. It payed homage to the Beast that redefined the Monster Movie Genre, and spoiled the fans of the Original films, and introduced all the Monsterverse Fans to what the OG Godzilla was all about. Death, Destruction, and Nuclear Carnage to the highest replica. This film will literally be talked about and written about in books for decades to come. The tale of How Godzilla not only destroyed Japan, but how it destroyed the Hollywood Monopoly of Film Industry. You don't need a 200 Million Dollar Budget. You don't need a star-studed cast. Hell, you don't even need the most common language used. You just need to write a good story. Godzilla Minus One does this to the nines, and it's success has shown. Never again in movie history, Will a film double it's production cost in earnings TEN TIMES OVER. We watched movie history unfold before our eyes.

    Just like the original Jurassic Park, they knew how to sparingly make use of their special effects budget. In the original JP, the dinosaurs were only on screen for about 15 minutes, of which just 1/3 of that was CGI. I'd bet that Godzilla was only on screen about that much in this movie too. The less we see of him, the scarier he is, and the better you can make him look.

    What i don't simply understand. Is in American - Hollywood Movies, the Script & Storytelling get's changed like at least 3 times. I get it's not easy to make a movie at all. But you have the perfect script & storytelling, But then the Director, Producer's and Writer's change it to a shitty Script & Storytelling. We see this in so so so many movies nowadays with concept art and earlier drafts of the script.
    Example: In Shane Black's 2018 Predator Film, did indeed had a very good on point script & storytelling. But... for some reason, It was all changed into well... what we end up getting in it's release.
