You should def visit Egypt again. It’s a beautiful country. Just make sure you have local friends to guide you throughout ur trips and join u in the very touristy places so that people don’t bother you.
They even used some of the bricks from the collapse ancient lighthouse to build the fortress. Alexandria is a beautiful city when you go back hit the library, catacombs and mango ice cream. 🫡
You didn't let anyone down Chris, that was a nice little video of Alexandria. You did quite a lot, the Street from the Hilton, an uber ride, shopping, boat ride, citadel, ice cream and a great mooch about. Cheers
Brother was good to see you today on the road. Can't thank you enough for all the videos, sure makes planning trips to foreign countries alot easier! 🤙🏽🙏🏽
The fort was built at the place where the lighthouse of Alexandria once stood. It used what was left of the Ptolemaic building once stood.
As for the purpose of the fort, its was to defend Egypt from the Crusaders who invaded the land several times with no success.
I guess I wrote that in haste and before finishing the video. 😁
Wrong habeebi. It was used to defend the Mamluks from the ottomans.
Loving this Egypt series! I will get there someday. The dudes following me would get old. You handle them with style.
Beyond annoying. I’d be miserable more than usual.
Thank you so much Chris for your feedback about Egypt and social Alexandria my city 🇪🇬 you really need back to Egypt you have a lot to explore
Tipping is very very normal in Egypt … most people pay and tip AFTER they get service not before … 20 pounds is plenty for tipping
Thats where my late dad was born and raised in Alexandria, there were many Greeks that migrated there for work in the 60s. All I could think about was him watching this I miss him, maybe one day ill make it there in honour of him thanks Chris ❤❤❤
Thanks so much for the beautiful comment, 🙏🏻❤️
I hope you make the trip happen soon!
@Travelwithchris me too! This year later in the year so its not too hot thanks so much Chris ❤
@@IadoreyouMaxxy Welcome to Egypt, I hope you great time there
u r welcome at any time in alexandria
Good morning Chris thanks for showing 👍🏿✌🏾
I love your videos, keep up the good work! And thanks for visiting my city Alexandria, hope you enjoyed the one day you spent over there.🥰
Egyptian culture is so beautiful and unique, I really enjoyed all your vlogs in Egypt. Thank you Chris for sharing with us Chris 💯
Glad you enjoyed it! I will be back again in the future!
Great series! Egypt is not always the easiest place to travel but it is totally worth it!
I really enjoyed seeing my favorite city in the world. The last time I visited it was in 2008. I miss it very much. Thank you Chris! I hope your trip is enjoyable.
Keep up the great content Bro Chris 😊
From Alexandria Virginia, big thanks to to you Chris for showing my beloved Alexandria AKA “ The Mermaid of the Mediterranean Sea” usually in Egypt you tip after getting the service ,not before .I hope you enjoyed our beloved home country Egypt
Your videos inspired me to start traveling more. I’m going solo to Iceland next month and I’ll see where I go later in the year. Love your videos ❤
Wow so awesome... thankyou again 🤗
Thank you very much, Chris, and all Egyptians love you
Hi Chris nice to visit Alexandria , it is nice city you should visit Montaza place and the new built smart city Almain city .
Sea food in Alexandria is different , it is delicious .
When I used to live in Egypt 25 years ago I used to pay after I got the service not in upfront like what you are doing and I used to give tip for the labor sometimes in upfront to get good services or I say if you give me good service I will give you tip but if I didn’t get the good service I will not give the tip or I give small tip .
Most of the labor are very poor and tip if you convert to the foreign currency it is few cents you make them happy and you will get excellent service and at the end it is your choice you pay tip or not it is up to you .
Egyptians people are happy people and they love the foreigners ., thanks for sharing your experience .
Thanks for watching! I appreciate the comment!
Chris I hope your feeling better blessings 👍🏿✌🏾
Love the old architecture. Thanks Chris ❤️ ❤❤
Glad you enjoyed it ❤️🙏🏻
I am from Alexandria. I left Egypt 6 years ago and I am really about to cry. How much I miss Alexandria... By the way, no one asked me for a tip, but they expect that from me... But I am really stingy, but my mother always gives a tip. She is very generous.😢 I miss Alexandria very much
I hope to come back and visit for a longer time!
You saw both places and you can always come back another time.
Really enjoyed your video thanks Chris. We're visiting Alexandria and Cairo 1st May.
Congrats 400K subs. Keep trucking!!!
Thanks a lot!!! So excited about that!
Good afternoon. Good to see you again.😊👍
Hello Chris, I loved the egyptian series and im glad you ended in my beautiful city Alexandria!
I'm pretty sure you will come back.
Take care bud!
Thank you! I will definitely be back!
Chris, your videos on Egypt brings back memories….I visited there back in 1985 while in the military….It appears that it hasn’t changed much except for new buildings….The “street hawkers” or supposed “tour guides” really are relentless….even the camel driver at the Giza Pyramids tried to rip me off…I did purchase some interesting souvenirs, including a concentrated perfume ingredient which actually my wife enjoyed…😅
Hello Chris... very nice there and nice boat trip..much better than before...so much more relaxing...for you and me😂miss Gladys hope she is ok... thankyou...so beautiful.🤗
Love how u handled that guy. In this video you were cool calm and collected. Love to see you when your like this .
The citadel looks awesome. I just checked and I am going here on my tour of Egypt! Can't wait!
Thanks for the support!
Very nice sharing the video 🎉😊❤
Really enjoyed the video, Chris. Very entertaining views and walk thru that amazing fortress built on that very ancient site, even if you didn't know it's origins it was fantastic, boat ride well worth it, too. That 1st vendor, glad you didn't pay more to his pushy dishonesty, and the 2nd one so much friendlier and seemed way more honest with you, well done, brother. Touts are everywhere so stay strong and safe with them, best to avoid how you do already. Stay Healthy, Happy and Safe, brother, and get some charcoal tabs for your stomach issues for around the world, caution on not so safe/clean street foods, but hotels sometimes much worse if not eating early AM or at high end. Also, longer queues usually mean much safer street eats, too.
Egyptian cities are no 'walk in the park', yet you've got a great attitude. A sure sign of a true traveler. Keep on going, brother!
Thanks a lot bro!
Beautiful people of Egypt
Be safe, careful and on your flight to your next destination.😊👍🙏
Mr. Chris:Welcome to Alexandria, Egypt this week after visiting several cities in Egypt January of 2024❤❤❤I wish you safe journey always in peace 2024❤❤❤
A bit of hate on here for Chris. He started so strong and I think it must get so wearing with people following you and such and that is natural ❤ he has stayed very positive compared to most I am sure! Makes me a little nervous for my trip but overall I really appreciate the warm and genuine show of what Egypt is like. Thank you Chris. And to everyone else, show him the benefit of the doubt he shows everyone else. Respect dude.
Thank you so much! Yes it got old quick. By the time I left Egypt I was exhausted, but I will be back! Beautiful country!
Alex is nice in winter but in summer it is so crowded and so noizy you are inthe best time to enjoy Alex
400k subs 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 Congrats big man !!!
I visited the small marine aquarium next-door to after the Citadel. It’s so cute and amazing and good price thoroughly recommended.
Looks hella nice bro
Oh wow. I literally had no idea this existed. This is absolutely stunning!! I definitely want to visit this. It is giving Greek vibes, or southern Spain
An interesting vlog and information - well done.
I am Egyptian, tipping culture here is almost non existent, only foreigners are asked to tip because they don't know that people don't tip in Egypt, loved the boat trip tho, Alexanderia is so beautiful, as a Cairo local, Alexandria is definitely more relaxing and stunning to me, the reason alexandria feels like a European city it's because it was built by the Greeks
It’s the same way in much of the world. Americans are almost always asked to pay the gringo tax.
I see my egyptian friends tipping people who watch over their parked cars and salesladies in clothing boutiques. Baksheesh is everywhere..even the customs guy at the airport asked me for a tip and i speak arabic!
@@Fiola_M yes there are people who illegally take money from you for "allowing you to park in public streets" which is very annoying but that's the only instance that you're kinda forced to "tip".
Your friends may be rich or live in rich areas coz I never tipped sales people in clothes shops or saw anyone do it.
I never paid tips (bashish) at the airport before
Thats not true, tipping culture is around in most tourist countries. I was in Alexandria last year and tipped restaurants, taxis and people on the steet if they gave me good service or if they helped me find somewhere. Tourist destinations rely on it and the dollar/euro is so strong that a few egyptian to give is not only an act of kindness and appreciation, it also has little affect on the tourists pockets.
@@waterbearer4627 I'm guessing you're not Egyptian which proves my point that only foreigners are expected to tip, by all means tip people who are working in the tourist attractions, they definitely depend on it but it shouldn't be demanded from you, you should do it of your own volution if you want, Chris was asking Egyptians if tipping was normal, so as an Egyptian I was answering, it's expected of foreigners because the Egyptian pound keeps getting devalued compared to the US dollar unfortunately and people's livelihood are threatened but as an Egyptian it's not expected of me to tip because I too don't have US dollars and am struggling to make ends meat too, it's why you see the prices for things like trains or museum tickets be different for foreigners than locals, if you're a rich Egyptian or a foreigner sure go ahead and tip but it's not like in America where everyone is expected to tip their waiters etc, we're more like Europe where no one tips with the exception that foreigners are expected to tip in tourists spots in Egypt unlike in Europe, hope this made sense
Go get some rest you had fun and video was great.👍
Brother I love Egypt and the amazing places you are visiting. I was shocked to see you get so upset with the vendor in Alexandria. Please, remember so many of the places we visit; we’re the ambassador for so many around the world. Always, stay calm because these countries depend on tourism for their livelihood. Keep up the good work and stay calm 😊
Yea ice cream Azza is pretty famous
You are so friendly ❤ keep going bro , I like your videos 🎉
The guy said 50 for 15 mins and was confirming if you gave him a tip with the extra 100. You can hear him say 50 for 15mins.
Exactly. I heard that too but Chris missed it. He overpaid for that boat ride.
No he said 150 and "Etnein" hundred means two hundreds. 15 Minutes or 20 minutes.which is 10 pounds per minute. Greetings from Cairo
Enjoyed all of the Egyptian series really..and this is from an Egyptian and a new subscriber 😃
Thank you so much 🙏🏻
enjoying ya good peogramme u make
❤ your every videos so unique and gorgeous, whenever you explain...
Hi Chris, I agree not tip when they ask you. Tip as you want. Be strong and tough to those have bad manner. We enjoy your videos. We wish to go Egypt one day but now we have to think twice.
thank you for visiting my town 😍😍😍😍
I will have to come back soon!
Love Alexandria in winter, usually I hate to tip for no service .
Yes same!
Thank you for taking me on your trip
Glad you enjoyed it!
Throughout it all, I really appreciate your positivity. ❤ Hope your stomach feels better Chris. I bet you wish that you could snap your fingers together and Grandma's Chicken soup would appear!
Tipping is normal. Actually Local Egyptians tip workers more than tourists to.
That's good to know!
Alexandria is very busy during summer time, it will be filled with beachgoers who come from different cities in Egypt, but during winter it is calm and beautiful.
Thanks for the info!
Loved seeing Alexandria…yes, mummy tummy is real. 😬
Wating for Re-visit video ❤️
Hey Chris, whenever you come to Dubai please let me know. We will catch up. I am your subscriber and a big fan. I watch all your videos

You have a lot of patience. Lol . Enjoy your videos.
Thanks so much!
Cool watching
Thank you 🙏🏻
My father was born in Alexandria over 80 years ago when it was part of the British empire. Nice to to see the city he was born in. 😊
You are teaching them to be honest. Good luck with that.
I was in Cairo, Aswan, Luxor & Alexandria 10 days trip to Egypt. So tired being chase by those peoples.
400k waiting..... 🇱🇰🇱🇰🇱🇰🇱🇰🇱🇰🇱🇰🇱🇰🇱🇰🇱🇰🇱🇰🇱🇰🇱🇰🇱🇰🩷
You should go to Stanley Bridge its a must ❤❤❤❤😂😂
You are right, I always prefer Alexandria to Cairo. FYI, lots of people refuse to leave Alexandria and live in Cairo even if they get paid more.
Thanks so much for watching!
Mr. Chris:Congratulations to you for visiting Cairo, Luxor & Alexandria, Egypt in January of 2024 to shows these amazing places & Landmarks in January of 2024❤❤❤❤
You have to try Seafood there, there's a famous place named "Abdo Farag" it's very close to the citadel, also you have to drop into the Montazah palace and enjoy the beaches there.
التصوير قديم وهو خرج من مصر
Alexandra has lots of Italian and European style buildings due to the invention
Chris i really find some of these people rude good for you that you're starting to pull these touts up dont make them stress you out.
Great videos chris Eygpt is beautiful shame some of the people are given Eygpt a bad rep
Thanks so much! Yes unfortunately, they ruin it for all the nice Egyptian people i meet... the messed up part if when Im filming the nice ones never come up and just talk 🤣🤣 crazy
Welcome to Alexandria
Thank you 🙏🏻
You should try fresh mango juice in Alexandria , Fatir Askdrany , pastry filled with meat or sweet , and when you at Azza ice cream you should try ice cream vanilla with Rice pudding 🍮
Thanks for the recommendations!
Hope you can make video at the new cities in Cairo like new Cairo and sheikh zayed as very few bloggers and CZcamsrs film there ❤
I’m an egyptian living aboard and i’ve been binge watching your videos and reminiscing my days in egypt. There is some magnetic force in egypt i do not know what it is, but it fills your heart with happinesses.
Nothing compares to Egypt 🇪🇬🇳🇴
I’m so proud you stood your ground, if everyone did that they would stop being so rude!
Yes exactly! Thank you 🙏🏻
"Rude"😂 funny how the counties that support the genocide in Gaza have the nerve to call this rude😂😂
@MariamYasser-ii5so سيبك منه دة عيل مش محترم..... و رديت عليه قبل كدة و قلتلهم مايجوش لو مش عاجباهم مصر بس التعليق اتمسح
Ice cream always helps my stomach 😂
Yes tipping is common in Egypt but optional - no I won't tip up front specially if they ask for it. And 150 Egyptian is like $3-5 now so it very cheap. Hopefully u enjoyed it.
Thanks a lot for the info! Loved it!
That wave 😂😂😂
I like ancient old
Yes same!
Would you recommend going to Egypt in January. Or would you have preferred a different month. Thanks
💡👍Brilliant !!
Thanks for watching!
Man they keep the Christmas decorations up for a long time
Yeah till mid January, crazy
Well it's because Christmas in Egypt is on the 7th of January (orthodox use the Julian calendar) 😊
No wonder some people recommend Do Not Come To Egypt.
I love you man you amazing i hope you visit Egypt again ❤i wanna meet you bro
Thank you so much 🙏🏻❤️
@@Travelwithchris I'm waiting for you bro in the next time 😁🌹
Nice
As an egyptian we usually give tips at the end. But i’m assuming because they think your foreign you don’t know the tipping culture so they’re just telling you to tip
Yea, they do have to have permission, ❤❤😂bro
Here we go with the shenanigans. What up bro.
A lot of Roman sites in Alexandria 👍🏻
If the Egypt series has taught me anything its to not visit Egypt, the people are pushy and want to scam you, nothing inviting about this country, the people ruined it :/
Sadly, I see why also...
