I'VE had my tunes since the early 60tys and always playing them .I used to go to all the push ins in south London with all my friends sad to say a lot of them are no longer with us but every time i play my tunes they are with me .
In the winter of 74- spring 75 this was the biggest tune on RJR. We would listen to on transistor radio in Westmoreland. Great memories of a simpler time.
Tune from back ina day I tell ya.Dem times the blues dem strong all over the country. This one takes me back to Liverpool 8,deep ina the city ghetto.hole heap a sound and dj bust dem tune..Class✊🏽😎
Bought this (and most of my reggae singles) from a guy who used to run a reggae store at the back his ironmongers shop in Brum in the 70s. Sounds implausible but all true - used to go there at lunchtime in my Saltley Grammar School uniform and must have all looked quite bizarre. God they were good days. Thankyou mightydoctorbird
Carl's sweet vocal lends itself to the lyrics and the dub just rocks along - like a mountain stream! If that weren't enough, Big Youth makes version his own
BUT WAIT !!....I appreiate the versions and nice mix , but there was another toasting version that came out at the same time and I don't mean Scotty's version ...It was either by prince far I or U roy...I just can't remember the title ....Can anybody help ??
