Yes coach to seaside, packed up fried chicken hard dough bread coleslaw and sandwiches. When evening comes watch your parents dance to silly o clock in the morning falling asleep on two chairs before coming back into town.

If you lived through this period of great music without the expletives just design for pure groove and enjoyment the hot raves locked down in a corner with a chick. Remembering those days is all that keep us going and hearing these vibes take me back..

And to think this tune nearly wasn't released. It was originally a jam session with Horace Andy freestyling lyrics. Tapper Zukie happened to be in the studio, and he got in on the action, starting toasting and that was that!!👍🏽❤🎶

I can almost smell the Sunday chicken wafting from the kitchen at around 3 in the afternoon, mum humming and cooking with the radio bucking the Tony Williams show , me up and down in my Bauer’s and leg warmers (all when sun ah beat)
The rastaman dem opposite on the wall reasoning loud and animatedly beating a chalice and I stare in amazement at how much smoke would come from their noses lolol
I would have been 7 - 8 yrs old at that time
I am now 44 and this song totally embodies my beautiful happy analogue childhood
    In mid 80’s south London
Peace and love to all !!

Remind me of 1979 when my mom had her send off party a few days before migrating to the US. I think that party was the best our house ever had. She was a reservation supervisor at the Jamaica Hilton (now RIU) and her friends from work brought her gifts. That was when it hit me that mommy was really leaving. It was a tough 6 months then she returned home resigned her job, came back to Chicago and I fell into a very deep depression, until I joined her 2 years later. My mom and I were very close. Now I've lost her again to cancer. I slumped into depression again, dropped out of my criminal law classes. I am slowly rising again. Miss you mommy.

Hold on my brother. She's ok with God, He will never abandon her or you. Trod forward. She's looking down on you & by the grace of God, we will All meet our loved ones again where there's everlasting life. I recommend to read the Holy Scriptures, particularly the Gospels. Have Faith and Peace, but understand that this is a process you will get through . Don't ever be discouraged! I lost loved ones to the horrible disease also. But, God carried me through when my own legs couldn't. Don't be unbelievable in God. Trust me.

@millicent locrian American here. 1998. First time I went to a jamaican spot in Los Angeles. This jamaican female pulled me in while I'm walking by. Rub a dub was playing and it was at that point that I understood the dance. And became addicted to the dance scene. Been to dance from Brooklyn to Atlanta to Miami. Each time I rub scrub and whine nuff gyal.
