Dog park complaints:
1. The person who brings their dog and decides to have a training session WITH TREATS and gives you a dirty look when your dog comes over wanting treats
2. The person who comes in and leaves their dog leashed when there are a million dogs there and judges you for your dog running over to try to play.
3. The people who bring their VERY SMALL CHILDREN and let them do things like play catch with tennis balls and expect you to keep your dog away from said tennis balls.
I could go on and on. More dog park stories!!
And people like adults who come to a DOG PARK to have a stroll and clearly don’t like dogs/ get annoyed when they come up to them to say hello🙄😂

It isn’t a major surgery. For a female, spaying is, but not neutering. Also your vet is probably old school. Many pets get fixed at 3 months old. And some animal shelters get them fixed as little as 9 weeks old. Overall, it is safe, BUT some vets want to wait which is fine. Whatever YOU feel comfortable with. However, dog parks literally have rules about unfixed pets. Doesn’t matter if he is a puppy.

The dog park story just brought something up in my mind soooo....
Me and my Dad were just sitting on a bench in our local dog park watching our dog just play around with his best dog friend when this woman and her daughter come walking in, they’re both in plain white coats and they’ve have this little white westie. My dog (who is quite a big dog being an Irish setter) being excited that they’re are new people coming in starts running up to them and then as he gets nearer slows down and just starts sniffing them like any average dog. This woman then just start yelling at us like “Excuse me get your dog away! Hello excuse me!” We politely replied saying that he wasn’t doing anything and she wasn’t even dirty (but let’s be real here it’s a dog park you come in you expect to get dirty). She then walked across the park and our dog starts playing with her dog which her dog was absolutely fine with but she starts yelling again in the end my dog lightly brushed against her white coat and being slightly dirty got a smudge of dirt on it (which is washable by the way) and then starts yelling again before storming away. But what the hell! You don’t just come into a dog park with clean white coats and start yelling at innocent people when he slightly dirties it, she also screamed when our dog first came up to her (she was scared of how big he was) my Dad called him off and he came back to us but still it’s a dog park woman you need to expect big dogs do you see my screaming when your dog gently sniffed my hand? No cause it’s a dog park that’s what you expect!!! Anyway sorry for the long comment it just suddenly came to mind😅

That’s why I have always been too afraid to take my dog to the dog park. I know it would be good for them and I’m sure fun for them. But the interaction with strange people like that and my dog being attacked is scares me into not going 😕
Chinchilla hats every dog does not like each other, being able to have them interact with each other and them disagreeing is a natural thing in the animal kingdom. People who baby their animals really grind my gears , how do you think wolves or wild animals establish trust and dominance? Obviously if the dog is purposely aggressive to all dogs then that’s an issue with the owners training

Its actually recommended to not take dogs to dog parks. Majority of the dogs in there have no training and their owners let them act horribly. My aussie was literally scarred from getting attacked for existing, he hasnt been the same since. So be careful! If they get traumatized, its hard to help them move past it.

Our adopted dog, who was feral and lived on the streets for the first few years of his life, has aggression issues with dogs with testicles. At the dog park we would keep our eyes out for un-neutered dogs and go to another area or leave because we didn’t want to inconvenience them. We took the responsibility to make sure we avoided them so that we wouldn’t disrupt their experience. Dogs are animals and sometimes they have issues like this; but if you’re bringing your dog to a public park it’s your responsibility to take ownership of your animal’s behavior. Our dog is a super sweet boy; we think he just had a lot of intense experiences living on the streets in his early years. He has several scars on his heads from fights with other dogs. We wish he could tell us his story. He’s come a long way with training but we can’t erase the instincts. We love him though! I hope you have better dog park experiences in the future!
