Lol, same here. In court she just turns off whenever her ‘scene’ is over. It’s how actors that aren’t method operate. We save our emotions for the camera to roll so we don’t ‘dry out.’ The problem is that she comes across as a sociopath by doing so in a real-life situation. It also comes across as melodrama, like when there is no emotional connection and just displaying an emotion… thus crying without tears. Is she a decent actress? I haven’t found proof yet that she isn’t just a pretty person with connections in the industry. But there seems to be a lot of that in film and TV.
I can see why they were considering recasting Mera. She's not terrible, but I feel like she might be overthinking things, so it comes out as unnatural. Some moments fall flat while others are too much. You need more than, "okay" acting and beauty to be a good actress.

She didn’t command the screen with charisma. If that was the best they could muster after all the editing and emotional musical score the head of Warner Brothers said they had to do to “create” chemistry, boy, she must have been pretty cold and stiff. Jason Momoa and Johnny Depp command the screen when they appear. Just think about how Depp is the center of attention as Jack Sparrow. Gal Gadot and Angelina Jolie usually command the screen when they appear. Amber Heard is vanilla. Any actress would do as well and many would do better.

Agree. The first time (only time) I saw this movie, I thought how hideous this color was. I understand them choosing a deep red tone to match the character in the comic books, but they could have found a tone that looked like a natural color with her skin tone.
The wig is the worst quality. I’m surprised a million dollar film didn’t get a better wig made. It’s appalling and definitely could have been better.

Same here. I actually watched about 10 minutes of Aquaman when it aired on TV the other day just to see how she was. I thought she was pretty cold in her first scene in that picture. She didn’t command the screen with charisma. If that was the best they could muster after all the editing and emotional musical score the head of Warner Brothers said they had to do to “create” chemistry, boy, she must have been pretty cold and stiff.
Jason Momoa and Johnny Depp command the screen when they appear. Just think about how Depp is the center of attention as Jack Sparrow. Gal Gadot and Angelina Jolie usually command the screen when they appear. Amber Heard is vanilla. Any actress would do as well and many would do better.

If the court and all this situation with JD didn't happen none of you would say she's bad actress or she's not good to play Mera. Hearing her speak here reminds me of her speaking in court and in the audios.. things will never be the same for her. Johnny wouldnt have taken it to court if she confessed her lies but it had to be revealed out the hard way. Deep down perhaps beyond her behaviors theres uncharted territories worth exploring for healing. I hope she can do that one day for the sake of her daughter instead of continuing to blame everyone else except herself.
