I was born just outside Chard In the 1950's, as a child I remember lots of shops with open fronts and selling everything you would need , there were 2 brewerys railway station 4 foundrys shirt factory 2 cinemas 4 chip shops several garages sadly all gone now, Chard was also the home of powered flight with Stringfellow's unmanned aircraft was flown in the upstairs loft of the lace factory

Beautiful town for tourists who want a hair cut so many not including mobile hair dressers would be lovely to see KFC and macd and more choice in opportunities and options available for new shops for people who don't drive and more variety and may be a field near the resivour for a mobile or cabin that could put tables out and sell them food and drink and for some to see the beauty and creachers help them learn about different types of trees flowers insects , phoenix hotel is the best pub in chard food excellent sarah steve and graham and all the staff are friendly and helpful ect also I'm looking for word to go to the new swimming pool center chard is a small beauty everyone is so friendly nice to raise your children merry Christmas and happy holidays love and light God bless you all 🙏😇💖🤗🌠👍👌👈

Hey , I live in chard and chard is a small little town in my opinion boring but that’s my opinion 😅 chard is the home of powered flight (stringfellow) there is also a twin town in Germany with chard , we had a big industrial trade in the industrial era and there were three main mills one is now a library and one is being turned into we think a leisure centre but no one is sure , there is abandoned canals and a old train station used to be in the place of the factory shop near where I live , there is also remainders of war bunkers one can Be found in Tesco field but you cannot enter and one is apparently in a field on a piece of land just outside of chard which you can climb down into .
