    "The design is too ambitious for the hot stamp foil"
    Very well said. I do like those Aces though!

      Oh yeah some great artwork even if it didn’t always translate with the manufacturing…

    Can’t be sure, but I believe the reason they didn’t do the silver crackles on the red is likely due to the lack of contrast between that specific shade of red and that shade of silver. Since I don’t have the deck myself yet, I can’t be sure, but the red seems just dim enough that the silver would muddy the image more as they have similar amounts of grey in their hues. The silver would really only pop in certain lighting and angles. Maybe they were trying to avoid that

    Those in a weathered black back would be beautiful. Foil would pop hard.

      I don’t think it’s return-worthy by any means. Still an enjoyable deck with some cool touches despite some flaws.

    It would be the perfect deck if the royalties weren't the same.

      They are not. The cards are on a paper stock with a finish applied for handling.

    Is this by uspcc?

    • @berenvalari
      @berenvalari Před rokem

      I doubt it. They don't do hot foiling.

    • @TheCardGuyReviews
      @TheCardGuyReviews  Před rokem

      Not positive from the feel. The foil makes it feel a bit different from USPCC. I suspect so. ISPCC uses hot foil stamping as well with Metaluxe. And T11 prints pretty much all of their other decks with them as well.

    • @frankiecuvin
      @frankiecuvin Před rokem

      @@TheCardGuyReviews so T11 is now exepeimenting with other printers....interesting. This will open t11 to more oppoetunities or reprints of their OG decks like Citizens & Medallions

    • @TheCardGuyReviews
      @TheCardGuyReviews  Před rokem

      @@frankiecuvin Yeah not sure. My vague guess is that they are Legends printed. I suppose it could be USPCC? Honestly, the only company that can pull off foil this intricate is Cartamundi or someone using cold foil in my opinion. Hot foil from anyone will struggle with a lot of T11 designs in foil.

  • @berenvalari
    @berenvalari Před rokem +1

    When I saw these on the website I immediately noticed that the designs were too intricate for the foil. Also those courts aren't that interesting especially being near repeats. A bit over ambitious in the end and not worth $20 imo.

    • @TheCardGuyReviews
      @TheCardGuyReviews  Před rokem

      The courts would be fine without the repeats. Yeah a bit steep at $20 depending on what you want out of the deck.
      I will say though…lovely tuck.

    I hate this race between Theory11 and Bicycle, resulting in these hundrets of deck designs that look fancy on the outside but are nothing special on the inside, having standard face cards in a different set of colors or just minimal changes and it is rarely a nice deck with fully through-designed face cards that also have a nice general appeal to them. The worst thing is though, that they often advertize it as being a complete new design and only will show photos of for example the ace of spades that has been re-designed but the rest is totally standard but you often pay a lot money for a nice sleeve and card back and that to me feels a bit "scammy". There is rarely a nice deck out there that truely delivers in all categories. Also I think they should really work on the quality of the sleeves, because they get messed up already when opening them for the first time and wear very fast in general. Also charging 20+ bucks at release for a lot of them is usury in my opinion. This specific deck looks actually really nice and I would like to get it - IF it wasn't designed by Peter McKinnon! I can't stand his fake personality and the uninformed crap he is spreading on the internet, especially in regards to photography and misguiding all these beginners who don't know any better, just for the sake of creating "content" and generating views.
