    Great.This piece has many interpretations, transcriptions, arrangements. This is the creative freedom of music from the Middle Ages to today. Composers and performers face excessive formalism, improvising and recreating other works. Music is something alive.

    • @openmusic3904
      @openmusic3904 Před 5 lety +4

      I wholeheartedly agree. The excessive formalism that now defines the concert hall seems to be a relatively modern invention that came with the late 19th century. Before this concert halls, and churches, would be absolutely buzzing with activity, laughter, dancing, and chatting. Composers regularly improvised on stage during performances, Beethoven and Mozart were known for this. During the premier of one of Bach's Passions it is said there was so much life and activity that it was hard to hear the orchestra over all the people. This sterilization of the concert halls, the forced removal of the common spirit of joy and raucous laughter, the removal of life, has has been a massive detriment to classical music in my opinion and it has turned many people off who would otherwise enjoy the music and atmosphere. We are now expected to be austere, somber, and deathly silent when entering a concert hall, only allowed to applaud to when given permission. It takes a lot away from the experience. It has turned a lively and dynamic concert performance into what appears to be more like a dusty church sermon. Surprisingly, not many people are down for that, even if they love classical music, people such as myself.
