Bread Recipe:
For the starter-
1 cup warm water
3 tablespoons of potato flakes
3/4 cup sugar
1 package of yeast
Mix together and let sit. If you have time to do this the night before, it makes everything much tastier!
For the bread-
6 cups bread flour (all purpose works too if that's all you have)
1/2 cup melted butter, slightly cooled
1 tablespoon of salt
1 1/2 cups warm water
Starter
Mix the ingredients together on low in a stand mixer until combined. Then, increase to medium speed for about 1 minute. Place the dough in a greased bowl and set aside in a warm place to rise until doubled in size (2-3 hours).
After the dough has risen, turn it out onto a floured surface and divide in half to make 2 loaves. Shape into loaves and place into a bread pan. Alternatively, to make cinnamon bread, roll out the dough no thinner than 1/2 inch and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Roll the dough into a loaf and place in a bread pan.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees, and allow the loaves to rise for 1 additional hour. Bake at 400 degrees for 12 minutes, then reduce to 350 degrees and continue to bake for 25 minutes. They're even better if you brush them with melted butter fresh out of the oven!

Pizzelle Recipe: www.allrecipes...
(I did less vanilla, omitted the anise, and added 1/2 teaspoon citrus zest with a squeeze of lemon juice)
I have never seen a cookie press like this it's super cool
Great job Sage! That bread looked amazing.
Those all looked delicious! Your gift baskets were so cute!
Everything you made looks amazing!
A good tip i learned when piping butter cookies is to have scissors near and cut the end and then take a slightly wetted finger and smooth out the cut end :) I hope this helps in your future baking endeavours because this tip works with any batter of similar consistency :)
Thank you! I will totally try that. It's funny that you mention smoothing the end with a wetted finger because I did that by accident with this batch and was like WOW that works great 😆
Your baked goods looked wonderful, Merry Christmas. I taught my Italian ladies from work how to make Krumkake...It's a Norwegian cone cookie seasoned with Cardamom that we fill with a rice whip and top with jam. We use an iron to cook the dough super thin and then roll into a cone shape. Looking forward to trying your bread recipe.
You're making me hungry. Merry Christmas
Caught your video late hope you had a great christmas. I love pizzelles haven't had them since my wife passed away 10 yrs ago. I hope you have a awesome New Year on your homestead.
I will have to try these out! Thank you. Merry Christmas! To be honest, I do get tired of hearing the same clip of music on loop for 30 minutes straight. BUT, it didn't stop me from watching the whole thing because I was not here for the music. It could be just me though so take it for what it is.. I know I was grateful when people on my channel started letting me know because I was doing the same thing for a short time. I hope your Christmas is going great and you find the new year waiting with open arms!
I totally agree. Decisions had to be made editing at 2 am 😬
@@terranovaacres Most importantly, your doing great with your videos, I also appreciated having 2 today! Thank you. Your animals are looking pretty spoiled these days.. lol
Just discovered your channel. Lots of fun and good info.
Bravo!!!
Hello Sage, I want to say I love your spirit and energy. Also if you ever need a taste tester to try out your baked goods I'm available 😆😆
Happy Holidays!
It turned out beautiful! Good job Sage! I improvise a lot too and not afraid if it doesn't turn out but usually does even if funky! Merry Christmas 🎁 God bless 💝🎄
Wow 😳 everything looks so yummy. Your Gingerbread House was awesome too by the way.
Merry Christmas.
You too! 🎄
Looks awesome 😮
Enjoyed the video
That moment when you realize how hard your egg shells are…equally proud and challenged. 😂😂
Haha yes! Some of my hens have normal eggshells and some hens have really strong ones so it's a bit of a game of eggshell roulette when I go to crack one. Don't want to go too hard and make a mess 😆
@@terranovaacres same here. Ya never know which egg will be “that” one. 😂😂😂🥚🥚🥚🥚
I may not celebrate Christmas, but I absolutely observe any day that has pizzelle ngl (and why not throw in the cinnamon sugar in there while it’s out? Can’t tell me snickerdoodle pizzelle wouldn’t be one of the greatest creations ever).
❤❤
❤
I enjoy your videos! For future reference when baking or cooking, please tie your hair up, i learned this the hard way, when baking and thwn gifting my baked goods to someone, i watched in horror as that person bit into it and one of my hairs was in the cookie! I was so embarrased and horrified!! I sticky roller my clothing and put up my hair always now before cooking and bking for people!❤
A very Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄 SAGE your video is super fantastic 😊❤..and you are amazing and awesome 👌
Was that a bottle of your cider? If it was, how did it turn out?
That it is. It was more like apple wine when I bottled it and now it's more like apple kombucha (which I kinda love). It's certainly not cider, but it's also certainly not going to waste ☺️
Are these anything like Stroop waffles?
They're similar! Stroopwafels are a little thinner and usually have caramel in the middle.
@@terranovaacres Very cool. I have one here to try but I haven't tried it yet (Stroopwafel). Thanks for the video and Merry Christmas. I hope all is going well with you.
