    Ms. Renee represents the majority of educated Black Americans and people need to understand that she is representative of the Black America that White America does not want the Africans to know. We are plenty and we are huge on embracing our ancestors and the struggle they had and we celebrate our triumphs over what was insurmountable adversity but in order to move our society forward in the US required us to have a complete understanding of how our own world was being shaped and be active participant in the system that is stacked against us.

    • @tvs9978
      @tvs9978 Před 4 lety +24

      FYI she represents the Black America that Africans grew up watching and learning about through people like Phyllicia Rashad and her talented dancer/director sister whose name is not coming to me right now. Gregory Hines, Harry Belafonte, Maya Angelou and Dubois who lived in Ghana, Muhammad Ali- talented, well spoken, well educated artistes all playing their part in racial advancement. Then somewhere along the way that was thrown away and black America reduced its engagement and started projecting a culture of booty shaking, RHOA, and the like. It's not white America that was hiding that black excellence, it's black America that somehow abandoned its own image and best and chose not to engage with Africa. Let's take responsibility for our own choices. That was not on white America.

    • @jamaalshelton6793
      @jamaalshelton6793 Před 4 lety +5

      Well why don’t the citizens of Ghana take personal responsibility and not rely on charitable foreigner for hand out? Why is “personal responsibility” always screamed at poor Blacks and no one else. Personal responsibility is funding and building your own school. Stop down grading American Blacks RHOA is a reality TV show get over it. Same era you speak sooo greatly of had Bill Cosby drugging and violating women

      @@tvs9978 well good, because we are plenty and it appears that Africans even the ones that I have encountered in California align with White people thinking that we are a bunch of criminals. My entire family is and has always been educated Black people dating back to 1840. My only reasoning is that the establishment in both the US, Africa, and those other useless European countries have ulterior motives.

      @@jamaalshelton6793 FYI Ghanaians have taken "personal responsibility" for their education from day one. In Ghana, Education is free from K-12 and very affordable at the University level. The cost of college education, even for the private ones that have recently sprung up, is nothing compared to the prohibitive cost one pays in the West. In fact until fairly recently, University education was completely free for all Ghanaians -- students paid no tuition, room and board etc. So yes, they've been educating their citizens, despite all the challenges.

      I think she meant all education - environmental, technical and otherwise. I too remember that as a child (PH, Nigeria) the "village" people would squeeze out the sap(?) from a small plant stalk on a rash and it would basically eliminate all the itch... fam been on anti-itch medication (no damn cortisone!) since the beginning of time lol! But her point is, we just carry the tradition w/o understanding the "why" of how it works. We can combine that authentic knowledge with forms of recording, standardization etc. That's the technical aspect. But as you can see, this would enhance without compromising our authentic knowledge.

      ‘Education is key’ as Aunty Renie said the type of education we have in most African countries is flawed that is unsuitable for us. It is promoting colonial education and is not fit for purpose for Africans in the 21st century. We need to make agriculture a key subject in our primary and secondary school curriculums. Agriculture should be done in a sustainable way. If not in the future the Sahara desert will meet the Atlantic Ocean. African education is now totally focused on education that is not practical. Have students that come out of colleges and universities that lack practical experience in the subjects they have learnt. Now living in the digital era how many government schools have access to the technology needed for students attending these schools. For those attending fee paying private schools this is readily available. This will lead to majority being left behind. Africa has the natural resources but needs leaders that can seize this opportunity to change the narrative of Africa. Leaders like Paul Kagame of Rwanda who has changed the country by positioning it to face new opportunities and now the go to country in Africa, for tech companies. African leaders who find most of their young people heading to the Sahara desert to come to Europe have failed them. Countries like Eriteria, Ethiopia and Nigeria. Being literate should enable Africans to read their environment. In knowing what is suitable for the area they live in.

    Once again you have shown that Ghana’s present and future are in great hands. As an African American, I watched with great pride to know that one of our own, Auntie Renee, was offering such forward thinking, progressive and sustainable solutions. She and her team are phenomenal, serve as an inspiration to all. Also, I love that she’s preparing the next generation for new, untapped opportunities. Auntie Renee is America’s loss, Ghana’s gain. Thanks again for all you do to enlighten and educate about Ghana’s/Africa’s upside! Continued success.

    The message in this interview is one of the most informative message I’ve ever heard on your channel meaning this was about Africans worldwide to relearn ourselves and the land we stand on. capitalism is a culture that has been forced into our minds but collectively we will and have not profit from it because capitalism will only profit off of black exploitation worldwide. Wode maya Thanks for this amazing video it was very enlightening.

    Please encourage her to consider creating a website, and CZcams channel, to bring more awareness to her cause, and all that's she's doing there in Ghana.

    one thing i can say Is Ghanains are very smart. They are the only African country that i have seen that Targets African Americans and other diasporans to come home and develop the country. If this pattern continues then Ghana will give Nigeria a run for its money even though Nigerias's population is about 6 time larger that crazy. Mad love to Ghana!
