Ride The Lightning (Metallica) & Raining Blood (Slayer) 1984 & 1986

I just felt there are some similarities between two of their respective bands' most iconic intro riffs: Metallica's "Ride The Lightning", from their 1984 album "Ride The Lightning" (riff composed by Lars!) and Slayer's song "Raining Blood" from their 1986 album "Reign In Blood".
I agree they are not so similar when played back to back. But I still feel there is something out there. In those times, they were similar bands and were influencing each other, after all.
