    I'm not even slightly an expert but, I think the de-reverb thing is better used for vocals recorded in a large space with hard walls that create a slight reverb in the final product.

      *Yep, it's for vocals. Nowadays, only a few have the best audio treated environment to record their vocals without reverb, etc.*

    the result of the Dialogue De-Reverb plugin is much higher than that of the De-Reverb plugin. It needed to be given in an example

    Need the deverb for vocals recorded in big rooms. Happens more often then you think 😄 The new RX has some crazy updates! New comparision would be interesting ✌🏻

    As someone who has used these both extensivly. My take.
    ERA is an adaptive noise reduction plugin. It works amazing for what it is however RX when using the best learning model is lightyears ahead of ERA. ERA also can introduce some low end artifacts that become very bad when compressing on some samples even low noise.
    For me RX is superior but there are reasons to use ERA especially for basic tasks for video.
    If your looking for the superior audio de noiser RX is amazing. Cant even tell it was used if done properly.

    "9 times out of 10 removing reverb will completely fail" *shows example of reverb being removed*. I disagree - even in your example it worked. You should try SPL De-Verb as well it sounds more musical.

    This are obviously audio repair tool kits, so you would use de-reverb with dialogue in a non-treated room

    For RX, have you tried it by sampling the noise floor with the "Learn" option rather than running it in Adaptive Mode? I wonder if the resulting vocals are better that way in RX than in ERA 4.

    You are spot on M8, and fair.. Izotope de clip DOES work 100% of the time and I've been saying that for years.. ERA-D *can* be better on certain types of noise.. You know exactly what you are talking about.

    Waaaay after the fact... but "why would you want to remove reverb?". I restore old live gig recordings - for audience recordings, removing reverb helps a lot in bringing back more music signal to work on and removes some of the room ambience and swirling "mud". Tried Era 4 but Sonible's Proximity EQ is way better for this job.

  • @Ashad2012
    @Ashad2012 Před 3 lety

    De-Reverb, why?
    Because someone sent you a file that has too much reverb in it or maybe you have a take that can't be easily recorded again but has too much reverb.
    Even worse someone added reverb in a bad way and you are trying to correct it.
    As mentioned these are restoration tools.

    DeVerb is useful in terribly recorded dialogue. It is maddening to spend all this money on RX and then ERA comes along with a simple knob that does the same thing. It makes you wonder what Izotope will do to counter this. The ERA noise reduction is, sadly, way better than RX. You don't hear the swimming as much, if at all.

    Theese comparisons are unfortunately not very useful. DeReverb is not intended for musik but for dialog, and the way you demonstrate it - it doesn't really seem like you know how to use it? I use it for dialog editting, and for me i can get something useful out of it every time - though it is tricky to use (though it doesn't look like it). iZotope Denoise shines on lavalier microphones and booms, where it can cleverly remove some unpredictable noises from environments. I haven't tried ERA's yet, which is why i'm here / without a conclusion though.

    • @ninjafukwan7
      @ninjafukwan7 Před 5 lety +1

      What if the reverb sound is in someone who is in mid sentence? how would you chop that and still make it sound normal?
      Yes, it's obviously easier with a loop that have 3 elements in it.

      @@miguelmoreira5248 i wouldn't do that on a podcast to be honest if you can hear what people are saying clearly who cares about some background noise in a podcast music is different but to be honest electronic musicians tend to use synths so they only really have to worry about vocals synths you can modify before you record anything so you can make you signal as dry or wet as possible before you have to use something like a noise remover or reverb remover
