    At the start, they're meeting at Twin Pines Mall, but if you look at the sign when Marty gets back at the end, it's Lone Pine Mall. Marty ran over one of old man Peabody's pine trees when he escaped the farm. Got to love that attention to detail.

    🎶 "That's The Power Of Love!" 🎶
    Fun Fact: The judge who stands up to say that Marty is "just too darn loud" is Huey Lewis, whose songs "The Power Of Love" and "Back In Time" are featured in this movie.
    Bonus Fact: When Lorraine follows Marty back to Doc's house, she and Doc exchange an awkward greeting. This marks the only on-screen dialogue that Christopher Lloyd and Lea Thompson ever have, though they have appeared together in six movies.
    Bonus Fact: Writers Bob Gale and Robert Zemeckis actually received a fan letter from John DeLorean after the film's release, thanking them for immortalizing his car.

    Trivia: The inspiration for the film largely stems from writer Bob Gale discovering his father's high school yearbook and wondering whether he would have been friends with his father as a teenager. Gale also said that if he had the chance to go back in time, he would really go back and see if they would have been friends.

      My Dad and I both graduated from the same high school 20 years apart. I remember when I was a kid I'd look through his yearbook. I'd see how our town had changed, how some things hadn't changed, I'd recognize some of his classmates as (then) current business owners, local politicians and prominent citzens, doctors, and lawyers. I even had the same high school principal he had for my freshman year.
      That's one reason I like this movie so much, because I could almost see myself going back in time to my Dad's high school days.

    Different time travel stories have different rules about how timelines work. You're likely used to the ones where loops are created on a single timeline. In such a scenario, the future can never be changed, so you were expecting Marty's parents to still be the same way at the end. But in the world of BTTF, alternate timelines are created instead, hence 1985 has been changed.

    The figure hanging from the clock hand in the first few seconds of the film is supposed to represent Harold Lloyd's famous scene in the 1923 movie, Safety Last, an extremely iconic image as he dangles stories above a city street. 3. The guy that says "It's too loud" is Huey Lewis {Power of Love} that Marty was playing.

    schedule on the television show, meaning no write-outs or missing episodes, and filmed most of the movie at night. He was
    not allowed to go on Back to the Future (1985) promotional tours.
    5. That's a bad place to put flammable trash at the target during the experiment.

I hope you do all three movies in my opinion the second movie is the best but you have to see the first to understand it. Fun fact the original idea for the time machine was a refrigerator but they were afraid that kids would try to get in refrigerator so they changed the time machine to a car. For me the BEST part of this movie is the day Marty goes back to 1985 the date is 10/26/1985, the day my (now late) wife and I met. We both jumped off the couch a couple years later when we saw the movie on VHS (lol) and saw the date. Just an amazing coincidence. Your reaction to this was so perfect!

    Back to the Future is a CLASSIC. It MADE the careers of Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale. It was conceived by them all the way back in 1980. They were desperate for a successful film after numerous collaborative failures, but their idea was rejected over 40 times by studios because it was not considered raunchy enough to compete with the successful comedies of the era like Porky's. Although Disney rejected them because they thought it was to incestuous. Finally, Zemeckis had a hit with Romancing the Stone with Danny DeVito and Michael Douglas So a development deal was secured but they ran into so many problems. Michael J Fox was the first choice to portray Marty, but he was unavailable because he was under contract with his tv show Family Ties; So they got Eric Stoltz who filmed about half the movie with the other cast. But Zemeckis and Gale didn't like the way he portrayed Marty. So they were able to swing a deal with NBC and Family Ties to hire Fox- who had to pull double duty filming his tv show during days and Back To The Future all night. He played that entire role on NO SLEEP. This included re-filming scenes already shot with Stoltz and adding $4 million to the budget. Replacing Stoltz delayed production and the film's release date but, following highly successful test screenings, the date was brought forward to July 3, 1985, to give Back to the Future more time in theaters. This resulted in a rushed post-production schedule, and some incomplete special effects. However, Back to the Future was a critical and commercial success beyond all wildest dreams earning $381.1 million to become the highest-grossing film of 1985 worldwide. There was not meant to be any sequels. The "To Be Continued" at the end of the movie was added on video many years later once they secured a contract to film both Part 2 and Part 3 at the same time, Both movies came out with 6 months at the end of 1989 and the summer of 1990, The great Crispin Glover (George McFly) didn't come back for the sequels because he wanted Michael J Fox type money and they couldn't get a deal done. Dawn Wells (Jennifer) also didn't return because her mom was sick. So they replaced her with who became an Academy Award nominated actress - Karate Kid star Elisabeth Shue, You guys MUST watch the sequels. As for Marian's favorite time travel movie, The Time Machine from 2002- I didn't like it as much as he did, apparently I thought the ORIGINAL from 1960 (on Disney Plus) was much better. I recommend watching that one 1st before the 2002 remake.

    • @RumourdProd
      @RumourdProd Před 2 lety

      Hey - Dawn Wells would've been too old for this movie. She was in Gilligan's Island.
      I love that you think the time between when they first wrote the script "all the way back in 1980" and when it was released (1985) is a loooooong time. In Hollywood development, that's a blink.
