Nasik is one of the most important caves, and the largest, of the Pandavleni caves complex. It was built and dedicated to the Samgha in the 2nd century CE by Queen Gotami Balasiri, mother of deceased Satavahana king Gautamiputra Satakarni, and contains numerous important inscriptions.

    Fake information about Leni
She shows the Buddhist Stupa and pali script on the pillar.

the pandavleni name sometimes given to the nasik caves has nothing to do with the pandavas, characters in the mahabharata epic. other caves in the area are karla caves, bhaja caves, patan cave and bedse caves.

Fake information is projected about the Buddhists caves at नाशिक maharashtra, it is not pandav leni built or carved by mythological panvas, its pandu leni , Pandu is a word for the colour orenge in ancient language PALI . National geographic channel should not project such false information without proofs.

It's not the mistake of nat geo, it was written at the caves. But there r hindu, buddhist and jain caves so probably it wasn't built by pandavas.

I think we need a nashik local girl not Pune settled outsider face to explain history of nashik....... historically nashik was never part of the Maratha Empire... it was 1730 after battle of palkhed bajirao peshwas 1 ( Marathas) enter into city ( after almost 100 years of maratha Empire birth)....marthas ruled over nashik for 50 years only when city fall to British Empire in 1803 after Indore holkar forced lost battle with British major general Thomas hyglow in kopargaon & chandwad....even during holkar era British forces settled their military base in deolali with permission from Mughals Aurangzeb.....until Aurangzeb alive marthas never ever enter into the city....today nashik is just like Mumbai and Thane having marathis gujrati inflence across all sectors...pune and nashik both cities do not have similarity as pune is hard core conservative marathis area...
