  • I just made a prowler sled out of scrap wood and some steel piping.
    A prowler is great for conditioning and endurance.
    I will add hooks in each end for rope attachment. I'll also paint the piping.

    Nice. A pipe flange attaches easily and your pipe can screw into the flange. It keeps your holes from wallowing out.they

    Cool. I wonder if the pipes flex a lot. Using a thicker pipe to push with would alleviate that somewhat. Good job!

    Is it possible to put a handle on a already assembled wooden pallet?

    So how do you go about installing the poles im assuming if you screwed them in or glued them in they would eventually give out right?

    Have you tried this on grass? How was the drag? Nice build thanks!

      Pushing it on grass is very difficult, it might help to cut the 3 bottom pieces with an angle. It will most likely be easier with some plastic blocks underneath.
      But it works well on grass if it's set up with a harness over the shoulders or waist - then walk with it. Hits the legs immediately.

      @@martinjensen3688 I have seen some ppl use furniture sliders screwed into the bottom and they slide better like that.

    How is it with 4+ plates? Does it work well on pavement/asphalt?

    • @kurlybitz

      Wood on pavement won't last long. I saw another, much bigger and sturdier DIY sled, that used four inch PVC pipe cut in half and screwed into the sled skid. I'm going to try this build here and adapt the PVC to the skid. Easy to install and replace as they wear down from the asphalt.

    Good job . How are the handles and weight tube attached , thx.

    • @martinjensen3688
      @martinjensen3688  Před 4 lety

      They aren't attached, they sit in a slightly oversized hole. For the weights, it doesn't really matter, it will stay (unless used on very bumpy surface).
      The handles you'll need to actually slightly push downwards when pushing the sled - it works best with hands in a low position.
