Gotta be careful as a seller too, CarFax can be deceiving as well...my wife bought her Landcruiser New in 2000, and she worked as a Finance Director at the Toyota dealership in the Bay Area of California. We still own it and use it sporadically for trips and on weekends. This Landcruiser CarFax says it is a 4-owner vehicle... She bought it in California(first owner), we then moved to Texas for a few years(2nd owner) then back to Califonia(third owner), and finally, we titled it together (Fourth owner). Each transaction is recorded in Carfax as a new owner. I'm ok with this because we will never sell it... but to buyers and sellers be aware Carfax is not always accurate, it is merely a tool to reference and ask questions...BTW Great Reviews!

Bring a trailer and cars and bids provide the Carfax for their listings. Dealers often provide them too. If you're in the private market you'll have to pay for it yourself. That's where vehiclehistory.com and just googling the VIN is helpful.

Also know you can submit evidence to Carfax and get them to correct it!
