I wasn't expecting this movie to look this good.
Timothy the Mouse is killed off. So many elements being altered. Don't know about the ones that "violated" the MPAA code in the early 40's, like the champagne. This might not be a remake, but a new story. Hopefully, the original(I actually saw it in full.) might still be good.

Most likely. I mean, I’m sure it will still be good, but I feel this will totally change the story of the original, focusing on the family/children *way* more than it should. That’s usually what happens when new characters are inserted into a story. Personally I don’t see why they have to do that. They could literally *just* give the original movie a face lift animation wise and they would *still* make bank. I mean what the hell was wrong with the original story eh? Why’d they feel the need to change it? I mean nobody can really say anything since we didn’t get much in terms of the plot with this trailer, but the fact that there’s like a family involved and kids is a red flag tbh.

I fear that this movie is going to diverge its focus, where as the original movie story revolved entirely around Dumbo, it looks as so that this movie will have focus around human characters, which doesn't sit right with me. Dumbo is a story of an elephant surviving in a human controlled world, making do on his own prowess, with the help of Timothy Mouse, to make do in this world. Introducing characters who are humans and appear to be close friends/care-takers of Dumbo really shifts that perspective off completely.
Yes i agree and will not be going to the movies to see this I will wait for Redbox dvd of it. Going to movies pretty expensive for me and 4 kids. I can tell they changed it up to much. I like that Danny Davito is ringmaster . This movie looks honestly like a ripoff of the greatest showman, with dumbo there for name recognition. Dumbo was always a story that should stay animated, without useless human characters who just take away the focus from the elephant himself

I don't think any of the animals are gonna talk in this one. Seems like Disney's been trying to get rid of whatever talking animals they can since Cinderella. The Jungle Book itself believe it or not *IS AN ACTUAL BOOK* that was far different from what Disney made. Disney only remade the story in their own way. The new Mowgli film on the other hand is a truthful adaptation of the original book.

They don’t. They only own their version, which featured songs, and King Louie. The Jungle Book itself is in the public domain, literally meaning anyone can make their own version.

Dumbo is an inspiration to people who were born different. Dumbo’s ears are a symbol of that. In the cartoon he tried to hide his big ears. Tied them into a bow, used them as a hat. Until he realized he could used them to FLY.

Just got back from the theater. We watched it in Dbox seating. I loved this movie. The critics are idiots they are acting like this is a Marvel movie. Tim Burton did a fantastic job of recreating Dumbo from the 65 minute cartoon. My only complaint is they didn't show enough of Timothy Q. Mouse.

It's really important that I point out a thing or two about the actor who portrays Dumbo. He's extremely kind in person, and always goes out of his way to make his guests feel comfortable. I'm not sure if this comes across very clearly when judging him exclusively based on his on-screen persona. This aspect of his personality is difficult to convey, because he's highly introverted. Since I know him personally - I can assure you that he's exceptionally friendly and generous. He expresses all the correct, mandatory political views. His children briefly attended public school, even though they live next to the Hammer Museum on Wilshire Blvd. He convincingly eats lower class foods like American cheese, "Wonder Bread", and "Big Mac". His wife uses Sephora make-up without complaint, and never overspends for professional cosmetics (because they're typically gifted). Dumbo is one of my closest friends, and I hope you really enjoy his new movie. He worked really hard on it. One time we ate lunch at Pace Joint on Sunset, and he made the reservation FOR me. I hope that puts things in perspective. I really admire Dumbo, and his new movie is excellent. I have a screener, and promise you that it doesn't disappoint. The supporting cast is potentially also excellent.

The crows were racial stereotypes of black people so I think there not going to be in the movie. To be honest, they could've just gotten actual black people to voice them and not make them talk like they did in the first movie. It's that fucking simple Disney! Instead of pretending like a problem never existed, just fix it and learn from your mistakes.

If they are going to put them in the movie do it right, dumbo is a product of its age and should not be affected by changes in time.. It's not ok to give your kid beer as well, should they take out the pink elephant scene?

YES! I was a little worried they wouldn't keep that scene in this remake, but the second I saw that little snippet of a pink bubble elephant in this I almost awkwardly squealed with joy in front of my whole family. I'm still a little upset that it seems they're not keeping the beginning scene with the stork or Dumbo's Mouse friend, but I'm still super excited and I know it's going to be awesome!
