I'm a student in medical school. When I become a doctor, I would like to be able to provide free or super cheap health care in exchange for a sense of community. Just saying, not every doctor is doing it for money.

Yet let go of their ideals in pursuit of money. But in many cases their ideals are crushed by the bureaucratic systems that are in place. All the 'management goals' and so on. The healthcare system (like the educational system) is one of paper goals. About hitting targets and less about care. I honestly hope you will stick to your ideals. Because we need people like that more than ever. The book Utopia for Realists is super inspiring. And the new book of the author is even better. Very nice 🌻 I'm a nursing student and have the same hope for my future. I would love to meet a great group of providers and open a free (preferably)/low cost community clinic. I need to learn more about how this can work because of insurance/liability issues. I'm interested in us setting up a mobile clinic as well so we can go around and help anyone on the streets or anyone who needs it but can't come to the clinic.

I think it's great what he's doing. If a lot of people lived like him, tax revenues would plummet, central banks wouldn't be able to debase our money (because we wouldn't be using money any more!) and governments wouldn't have the resources to run the military-industrial complex and welfare state. Consequently, there'd be fewer wars and less corruption, and people would have to be more self-reliant.
i forsee a future where everyone has solar panels, a water harvest system, and if needed, a mud house. also, seeds and training on how to grow your own food. food, water, shelter... this is REAL freedom... not being dependent on someone else for these needs. Once no one is in need of necessities, everything else is for fun. Then... there is no NEED to rape the land and kill the oceans. we CAN do this now. what is needed is is the WILL.
The small percentage of the developed world adopting his version of a what we could call a homeless lifestyle choice is made up of people who believe lots of nice things. And this guy and all the rest depend on the richly productive lifestyle all around them to survive by scavenging on the edges of it. The last few decades of globalism have meant that many in the developing/third world have been able to move up out of the moneyless world. They aren't in and around the rich productivity made possible by centuries of commerce and mostly legal cooperation. Globalism has meant what they consider improvement as moving into a monied life means better, safer food, water and enough clothes and shoes. Enjoy the fad adoption of poverty. The real thing is what those doomed to it try to leave. Globalism has been allowing more to do that than all the well-intentioned "people's movements intended to help" have done.

I hate money, but my fiancee' LOVES it. We make just enough to have a nice place and cable tv, yet she is constantly concerned with more, more, and MORE. I wish I could just move to the woods and build my own farm, but that is illegal.
I live in the USA. You must own the land you live on and pay taxes on it. You can't just up and move into the woods and build a nice little fort made out of wood. They will come and tear it down and seize your crops.

Not many people can have vision like Mark, truly inspiring. But, I guess it is very hard to follow his footsteps. Thoughts like these are noble but I feel they are impractical in real world, because in real world there is competition, ego, pride and so on, and they will ensure the drive to run after money. The only mantra to success is just earn enough money to live life happily and don't be obsessive about money... Of course, one should be really sure of what is "just earn enough" !

Though I don't agree on everything Mark stands for I do have respect for the man who is truely living his values. I do strongly agree we should be using our resources of today to set ourselves up for a different tomorrow. I do not think the masses will give up their creature comforts willingly and so how can we find a middle ground? A plan the majority will participate in? If we don't come up with solutions now, we will be forced to one day when the current resources run out. Will it be too late by then? Will the masses perish because the resources for a new tomorrow are all gone?

Over half a million people viewed this video - me included. I'd venture to say that if each of us LIVED what Mark discusses here, the world would look radically different. Most, like me, are drawn to Mark's way of thinking, but then Coach comes out with a killer new bag.....or shoes. I grow some of my own food but still trek to Whole Foods because I only play at the idea of eating locally. I don't know why it is so hard to actually DO what is on our hearts as the "right thing." But here we are. I recognize that the small steps we take are better than no steps at all. But, in the end, they add up to just a few drops in the bucket. I'm not sure how to take the plunge. Maybe others feel the same way, and that's what holds us back.
I should add that it must be said, that this is a very wealthy man. He has a huge safety net if it's ever needed. That may be something that holds others back from taking the plunge.

it all comes down to how greedy people are. greed is sparked by the thought of wanting. the thought of wanting is sparked by the mindset of earning. the mindset of earning is sparked by currency.
The money system today is based majorly on paying for energy. It's never going to work in the long run, when enough people realize it, change will come. We'll still naturally want to "work" though... help out, work a job, help keep PCs built, mine for metals, etc. I just think what the guy is trying to say is we need to keep the right view on REALITY instead of a system our forefathers handed down to us which might not necessarily be of use when it comes to net piracy, free energy, etc, etc.

There's nothing wrong with having money, it's what you do with it that matters. That goes for anything. Becoming "aware," and "conscious" is everything. Most people are unconscious, and asleep, so of course the consequences of having lots of money or whatever, is undesirable and causes chaos and imbalances.
I have perfected many trades some thing's I gathered from school, some from just life experience! I am not a big non profit advocate but fair trade advocate, i do wish to retire some day with out having to work for house payment & etc! but this sounds fair, less is more!!!
resources are limited, just because at the moment air is "unlimited" doesn't mean a thing. You have to pay for a computer because the resources used to make it are limited plus labour.
We do have a resource based economy. What kind of an economy do you think we have now? Money is just the common denominator for the relative value of each resource... be it natural resources, labour or capital and it enables the efficient exchange these resources.
Can't wait for the new day--when authentic power will replace money, and people will exchange ideas and services, instead of pieces of paper whose value is manipulated by governments. A new day must come!

Though I don't agree on everything Mark stands for I do have respect for the man who is truely living his values. I do strongly agree we should be using our resources of today to set ourselves up for a different tomorrow. I do not think the masses will give up their creature comforts willingly and so how can we find a middle ground? A plan the majority will participate in? If we don't come up with solutions now, we will be forced to one day when the current resources run out. Will it be too late by then? Will the masses perish because the resources for a new tomorrow are all gone?

No we haven't, we only have to recognise that our illusion is an illusion. An illusion which goes unrecognised/unchallenged is a delusion, and THAT is what we need to get away from.
A resource based economy as promoted by the zeitgeist movement is the solution. Universal income is the transition.

I have pondered on this many times, but how does it apply to human nature, winning, power and equality. how will we live if everything was free? but to be blunt about it, some resources are limited- how will this be shared equally ? there are only so many seats at a sports event! there is a limited amount of champagne? there are certain aspects that needs maintenance, clean streets for one..
By authentic power, I speak of the power of our humanity. This is not a "buzz word," but a declaration of the intrinsic value of every human being. I dream of an economy that is based on the equal value of all honest labor, where reward will be based on one's contribution to society as a whole, and not measured in terms of education and social status, where the hard working janitor is paid at least as well as the half-hearted lawyer,

The Venus Project or Resourced Based Economy is what the world needs to change to, and the Zeitgeist Movement is helping understand why we need a change.
There are already lots of alternative healers such as Reiki healers, herbal healers, who would be willing to heal him. I have not seen a doctor in 2 years because I don't need to. As for children, I'd rather my children be homeschooled and not be brainwashed by the current school-system, thank you very much.

Over half a million people viewed this video - me included. I'd venture to say that if each of us LIVED what Mark discusses here, the world would look radically different. Most, like me, are drawn to Mark's way of thinking, but then Coach comes out with a killer new bag.....or shoes. I grow some of my own food but still trek to Whole Foods because I only play at the idea of eating locally. I don't know why it is so hard to actually DO what is on our hearts as the "right thing." But here we are. I recognize that the small steps we take are better than no steps at all. But, in the end, they add up to just a few drops in the bucket. I'm not sure how to take the plunge. Maybe others feel the same way, and that's what holds us back.
I should add that it must be said, that this is a very wealthy man. He has a huge safety net if it's ever needed. That may be something that holds others back from taking the plunge.
I'm sure one would learn a lot by living with you. I will seriously consider spending time there!

The most open-minded people are the most successful. To say something is a "SCAM" means that you paid for something that was not given. Watching this video costs us no money and at the bare minimum we at least gain knowledge. Some of us actually want to better ourselves and the world around us. it all comes down to how greedy people are. greed is sparked by the thought of wanting. the thought of wanting is sparked by the mindset of earning. the mindset of earning is sparked by currency.
The money system today is based majorly on paying for energy. It's never going to work in the long run, when enough people realize it, change will come.
We'll still naturally want to "work" though... help out, work a job, help keep PCs built, mine for metals, etc. I just think what the guy is trying to say is we need to keep the right view on REALITY instead of a system our forefathers handed down to us which might not necessarily be of use when it comes to net piracy, free energy, etc, etc.
The point is that Nash's illness did inform game theory. It does model some things accurately but in the form Nash originally proposed it doesn't model economics accurately. This is because it assumes that all agents are always selfish and only looking after their own self interest. This is not a true model of human interaction.

What doesn't work about it? It depends on what you think its supposed to do. Like the speaker talks about how to go backwards and get rid of money but doesn't talk about a vision to move forward past it. Money/Currency solves a lot of issues. What do you have in mind to go beyond that?
I really enjoy mark as a leader in the freeconomy, I just don't know how this translates for many of us.

There's nothing wrong with having money, it's what you do with it that matters. That goes for anything. Becoming "aware," and "conscious" is everything. Most people are unconscious, and asleep, so of course the consequences of having lots of money or whatever, is undesirable and causes chaos and imbalances.
I have perfected many trades some thing's I gathered from school, some from just life experience! I am not a big non profit advocate but fair trade advocate, i do wish to retire some day with out having to work for house payment & etc! but this sounds fair, less is more!!!

resources are limited, just because at the moment air is "unlimited" doesn't mean a thing. You have to pay for a computer because the resources used to make it are limited plus labour.
We do have a resource based economy. What kind of an economy do you think we have now? Money is just the common denominator for the relative value of each resource... be it natural resources, labour or capital and it enables the efficient exchange these resources.
Can't wait for the new day--when authentic power will replace money, and people will exchange ideas and services, instead of pieces of paper whose value is manipulated by governments. A new day must come!
