Andrew Phillips was the Legal Beagle on the JY Prog on BBC Radio 2. Great upload.
Esso advert ran for years a great tiger classic of course.
Remember watching The Great Depression. Good series.
The ATV versions of Thriller had gone missing by this point, so ITV companies had to use the versions intended for international distribution.
The ones with the bargain basement title sequences!
The London Programme had not yet commissioned the great John Kongos theme tune. Sounds odd to hear it using some tuneless electronic rubbish.
Well, I don't think the theme used here is that bad; but you're still right, when you think of TLP, you think in that legendary John Kongos theme.
I think LWT were much better at regional output than Thames, which in retrospect is quite remarkable, considering the nature of LWT's franchise and its role vis-à-vis the ITV network at the weekend.
(IMO, regional programming always seemed to have been Thames's Achilles heel.)
