One of the very best sounding engines available - naturally aspirated V8 plus manual transmission is pretty unique today.

The way it’s accelerating, 260kmh limiter is set too low. I wouldn’t be surprised if this car hits 280-290 easy

I was thinking the same thing. And I also feel this may be slightly underrated. Ford claims 464 hp for the European spec models, but 480 hp for the US one. But even 480 may feel a bit...underrated. This 5.0 V8 could be tapping the 500-hp mark and Ford declared less not to set it too close to the GT350, which has 526 hp.
But it will fall apart, that's why it's limited in the first place.. maybe the engine and what not can handle it, but certain parts can't and that's why it's limited. Trust me, car manufacturers don't randomly put a speed limiter on their cars to ruin people's fun

The only bad thing is the speed limit of 260, it should be 290 similar to Boss 302.

You could say you only need one gear, but a car like this with one geaar would be terrible to drive or extremely inefficient. We have gears for efficiency and daily driveability, not because they are necessary.

Ford is trying to recreate the classic 4 speed muscle car experience(with two economy gears).
The latest Getrag trans in the Mustang has 4th gear as the direct 1:1 gear. The prior gen of Getrags for the Mustang the direct gear was 5th. This means that 1-5 in the older trans had closer gearing which meant more shifting. The newest version has wider spaced gears because the Gen 3 Coyote has a broader torque band. This gives it the ability to stay in a gear for a longer period.

For those wondering how he hits top speed at 4th gear…. This car must be equipped with a 3.31 final drive… bottom line is, it drives faster at lower gears, the performance package Mustang has a 3.73 final drive which mean it kicks harder but to reach top speed 5th or 6th gear is required.

What country are you in? I recently discovered NA market cars have a shorter final drive compared to Euro (and possibly ROW) market cars. In which case your quoted speeds by gear sound about right.

@@BowlleuxMobile OK so you likely have the shorter 3.73 final drive, resulting in lower speeds per gear compared to our 3.55. My guess is that it was done primarily for economy and emissions reasons, which are hyper strict here. Frankly I'm just thrilled Ford Europe decided to sell the V8 version here at all.

@@BowlleuxMobile Sorry I missed your comment. Yes - the NA cars including yours should be a smidge quicker in acceleration with an accompanying lower top speed, assuming it wasn't electronically limited by Ford.
