flashback episodes are really common in this era of sitcoms. Basically just a "free" episode to save money
I heard that actors even negotiated them to lessen their workload somewhat during a season. Plus people used to enjoy them back in the day before streaming services existed. You had to wait months between seasons and could easily miss episodes during their original airing. So flashbacks used to be a good highlight reel I guess.
I tend to want to skip them though 😅
And there was the bonus: Duck footage flashbacks in the following episode!
I prefer to call them "clip shows," because there are plenty of "flashback" episodes of Friends and other sitcoms that use entirely original scenes, literally flashing backward to the characters' pasts, and those are loads of fun (think TOW the Prom Video in season 2, or a certain holiday episode in season 5 that Oscar hasn't seen yet). It gets confusing to refer to both premises and episode-styles as "flashbacks." Minor pet peeve, but obviously in this video we knew whatcha meant.
I dig clip shows for one reason and that’s that Community did one and showed us stuff that we never saw before.
The curse of twenty something episode formats, always got to have a flashback story to save production money, nowadays American shows are mostly much shorter

Lisa playing a pregnant Phoebe was one of the best plot lines on the show. Truly showed how brilliant Lisa Kudrow’s acting is!
She was actually pregnant so they wrote it in and made her belly look like it carried triplets but most of the size was from her actual pregnancy.

I don’t think Ross is still in love with Rachel here. There is still that nostalgia and that feeling of what if and he still loves her, and there is a sadness of that sense of her not being in his wedding, because she is a big part of his life either way. Also, I think Ross was fully in love with Carol and she wasn’t second best, and the beginning of his reawakened crush on Rachel, just like his crush on her on high school, was more of a fantasy than actual love. Then he fell in love with her for real. But I think he legitimately is in love with Emily, and is rushing things because the last time he fumbled. She is the first woman that makes him feel something since Rachel, and the long distance thing and going back to being alone makes them act a bit irrational, rushing into marriage.
It’s hard to answer without talking of future, but I would say he still does love Rachel. Ross himself said to Emily that he loves her, but he loves who he is with Emily “I love that guy’s (like getting the earring). He does still love as well, Emily but he is loving the moment and what the relationship makes him the most. And he has wanted to be married since episode 1.
But as people Ross only dated Emily six weeks and when Emily showed up and Rachel was gushing over Joshua he clearly had feelings for Rachel still. And how he cares for her still hasn’t changed.
@@sarasamaletdin4574 Yes, but I don’t think he is in love with her to the point that he is considering a relationship again or would give up the wedding for her. I think he clings to Emily because she helps him move on from Rachel in part. I don’t think any of them was still considering a relationship either. They still loved each other, but the hurt was too much. Both went into: oh they are now moving on desperation when she went with Joshua and then he went with Emily. You want what you can’t have sort of thing. I think part of him was sad Rachel and him would never be married, but other part just was sad at her not being there.

I was never really about the on again off again thing with Ross and Rachel, I was really invested when they first got together then broke up but after that not so much. I have another favorite couple that was the relationship of the show for me, I adore them. I've gotta say I really love what they did with Phoebe's storyline just writing the pregnancy in instead of just hiding the actress' pregnancy and it's has some great upcoming character moments from it.

In my opinion all the clips are the two reminiscing all the emotions that have been between them over the past few years. Ross ends it with "after the drama, she's still a good friend to me", by thinking of how Rachel was recently still there for him. Rachel ends it with not being fully over him.
You would be doing yourself a favour to watch Die Hard before you reach the end of the Friends series. There are spoilers in later seasons and episodes.

I'm finally all caught up and very excited for next week!
During the flashback when Ross yells "We were on a break!" we actually see him yelling. In the original scene we only hear him while the audience sees Monica's and the gang's reaction.
Also, right after Ross yells at the stripper and Chandler says "way to be cool, man", Matt LeBlanc breaks character by ducking down behind David Schwimmer and covering his mouth with laughter.
Fun fact: The bachelor party decorations in Joey and Chandler's apartment include inflated condoms. You can see them behind Ross in the scene when Joey first tells him about the ring.
Goof/character error: Being a vegetarian, Phoebe wouldn't wear leather pants - Unless it's faux leather.
The look on Joey's face when he sees the ring is gone is hilarious 😂

Great reactions as always...I adored Friends...Cheers (with it's iconic lead in song "Where everyone knows your name") would be a good series to try next. If you react to Die Hard...I would do 1 and 3 before the others. 2 isn't as good as 1 and 3 imo. The rest are ok. You should also react to Aladdin...animated film with Robin Williams voicing the Genie...it is CLASSIC!!!
Yes, please watch Die Hard! 🎉 Some call it a Christmas movie because the story takes place on December 24th and the event that brings the characters together is a Christmas party...but you can watch and enjoy it any time of the year.😎

ross and rachel are the best at being friends. the scene where they are in the hallway and talking about emily is the cutest scene to me. they are supporting each other and just being great friends. this was the first time i've smiled at a ross+rachel scene after the break up.
Next two episodes are gonna be insane. One of the biggest cliffhangers in the show coming up!
Rachel always wanted Ross when he wasn't available. Bonnie, Emily, Julie. But whenever he was available she was mad at him and didn't want him. It was so toxic.

We are so close to the end of the season and I cant wait! This season ends with a bang and starts off into the next season with an even bigger bang.
Its been so hard to be patient for this moment. I trily hope he will consider doing 3 epsiodes reactions all together for the last 3 episodes. That way he can start season 5 watching 2 episodes again if that is what he decides.

Trust me, you want to finish this season asap because it all leads ro an epic moment in Television history that is probably the most rewatched moment in Friends. And immediately start my favorite Season of Friends season 5 which is even more epic and fantastic.
Although I love the eaelier seasons very much. Season 5 and 6 are probably the seasons I re-watched the most. Trust me, your fixing to fall inlove with the show and these belovee characters even more. Season 5 and 6 spice things up for sure! You will NOT be disappointed.

Some other shows I grew up on I still rewatch and love very much today is SMALLVILLE whoch made Superman so freakinv cool and several famous actors and actress guest started on taht show. Some of them when they were already well known and famous like Christopher Reeve and Johnathan Taylor Thomas and Ice Man from X Men.
But there was other actors and actress who guest starred before they were as well known. Like Ian Solmerhaldwr who played Damon Salvatore in Vampire Diaries and Paul Wesley who play Stefan Salvatore from Vampire Diaries.
And even a young teen Amy Adams guest starred on the show.
And they played the best hit music in that show.
The other shows I watched that also were great and had an awesome sound track of hot afterhot songs was Dawsons Creek and One Tree Hill.
I think you would really enjoy Smallville, One Tree Hill, Buffy the Vampire Slayer (there is a spin off of Buffy called Angel). Dont watch Angel until you first watch the first 3 seasons of Buffy though. It messes with the timeline of whats going on with Angel then.
But as much as I love that show from my teen years, I do think you would enjoy Vampire Diaries even more. And then after that watch the spin off show to it called The Originals.
And if your still loving the vamps and werewolves and want to dive deeper but more for adults, watch True Blood.
People love watching others react to that show.
Also Once Upon a Time is another musy see show.
Anpther reactor I watch is Travis reacts and he became an instant HUGE fan of Vampire Diaires, Once Upon a Time and OneTree Hill. He always is so hyped up about those shows more than others. And I think you would be too.
But I do havea special request, I am getting so sick and tired of reactors only watching little skits of I Love Lucy.
That show is my number onefav show of them all andit doesnt matter how many times I watch it, I still laugh.
But nobody seems to bewatching the actual full wpisodes which is truly a shame. So please consider watched season 1-6 of I Love Lucy. Ty hey are only just under 30 minites per episode. And they have a combined seasons 7,8 and 9 of Lucy and Dezi comedy hour. And I think the episodes are 45 monutes each. They is really not too majy of them but they are so freaking hilarious. You must watch this! And people would definitely watch it too with you because nobody else seems to be investing in this hit comedy show that stands the test of time. No other show has ever made me laugh harder. The only other ones that came close to it was Friends and the Carol Burnett Show.

Phoebe is a surrogate, not the "biological mother" in the sense that she provided any DNA. The biological parents are still her brother and sister-in-law. So, while she is the "birth host", I would hesitate to call her the "birth mother". Certainly, Phoebe has a strong connection to the little humans in her uterus, I would imagine she "feels" like a naturally carrying birth mother with all the biological changes and mental / emotional experiences that accompany the process. What information is shared with the children and when to share it would be a decision for her brother and sister-in-law to make, similar to if the kids were adopted. Knowing the brother's character, however, he'd likely be very open about it all along. (He lacks certain filters.)

Even though I remember those times when TV shows were available only on TV only in real time of airing (unless you were lucky enough to have a VHS recorder and could record them) and I somewhat understand they weren't so pointless back then, I still hate those compilation episodes. 😵💫

I hate flashback episodes too, not the best fan of Ross and Rachel either as well - its not fair to others they date when they keep going back and forth with their feelings. This is why people like that shouldn't date when they know they have feelings for their ex.

This came out in 1997. At the time I was 9 ish. Back then I was team Ross & Rachel. I always wanted them to end up together no matter what. Now I'm 36 and I dont have the same enthusiasm for the relationship. Now all I see is one red flag after another.
You can look at it this way: they absolutely should end up together because both of them are toxic, perfect for each other 😅

Regarding Pheobe and her niece's and nephews relationship: It's interesting because Pheobe isn't their biological mother. Pheobe is the uterus/surrogate/ "oven" (as she put it, lol). The fertilized eggs implanted in her are her sister in law's eggs fetilized by her brothers sperm in a lab enviornment and then implanted in her uterus. I love science! XD So, I think the babies will have a strong paternal and maternal bond with Pheobe's brother and his wife, but I'm sure the babies also recognize Pheobe's heart rate, smell, ect, since they were in her for so long. :)
While I love the characters of Ross and Rachel, and genuinely want them to have a great life.... their relationship is a dramatic mess. They are not my favorite couple from Friends.
