Fun fact: Almost every scene in the trailer was taken directly from a real life event. You can find news footage of each of these things happening.

The GTA games are definitely pushing boundaries. They always have been… I do believe that younger people naturally are going to be more impressionable and like you said, let it affect their subconscious/soul… But I do believe adults can decipher the difference between video game in reality.
And games like this do typically tell great stories. It’s kind of like how people sit down and watch a whole series on Netflix. Some of us just choose to play interactive movies.
I've always seen GTA as the perfect video games for teens or even pre-teens. Gives the player all the freedom to commit crimes, drive and wreck expensive cars, shootouts with gangs and police, the list goes on. Most of that stuff you know from movies but doing it yourself in virtuality makes it that much more interesting. At the same time, it's very clear that whatever the character does in GTA is not what you want to ever do. Wouldn't wanna walk into a strip club, but to 13 year old me that was a major point of interest in GTA SA, same with the Casino. It's also always set in these interesting places you always wanted to visit but never got to, be it Californian cities or a mish-mash of New York and other cities in the form of Liberty City.
Unless you have a mental disorder that prevents you from differentiating fiction and reality, I can't see any harm from these games.

For as much as we want to say that we as adults can take it, we are also susceptible to the influences of these games. It all comes down to how willing are you to resist playing these kinds of games. Trust me. It happens to all of us. Our level of maturity may help us “soften the blow” but it’s still a blow nonetheless. Hope that makes sense. This is from someone who has played and enjoyed all GTA games and RDR.

Tbh I live in Miami and most of what I saw in the trailer are not things I see often but it still probably happens, especially in Miami Beach which was the most accurate part.
Yeah, makes me not even want to play it. I remember playing Vice City/San Andreas when they came out and they felt so exaggerated they embodied a solid form of escapism. Now reality is stranger than fiction and I couldn't give a shit less about playing them because I can see homeless encampments by just walking a mile from my home and a plethora of people cooked to the gills on Fentanyl/Meth parading around like zombies.
So just to clarify on the twerking woman, the scenes from the trailer that resemble social media are parodies of things that have actually happened “#floridaman” type stuff. For those who have never played anything beyond where Michael has the games all parody real life which usually take inspiration from real world events, clothing, items, lifestyles and many more things of the nature. It will be a fantastic title to play when it launches and I’m looking forward to it.
Parody is to make a mockery of something. This is not a parody. This game will celebrate this degenerate culture. If anything, the parody will be about Republican’s and crazy white Floridians.

As someone who was a teenager when GTA5 came out, that trailer was exciting to see. You have to understand that people have been clamoring for this game for 10 years now. 70 million views over the last 24 hours is not surprising given the decade long hype surrounding it.
I don't think anybody was clamoring for a sequel the day part V launched. We would have just been happy if GTA Online worked for the first two weeks, lol.

@@belivuk2526 The GTA games have always had good (if not great) stories, that do exactly what this type of game should do. It makes you feel like you are in an action movie. It doesn’t have to be ultra realistic or anything like that, just exciting. Rockstar has always put a lot of effort, care, and time into writing the stories of their games. I cannot recall a Rockstar game that didn’t have a good story. So I wouldn’t be too worried about that.

GTA is far from just hedonistic, it offers very interesting and funny social commentary with all of the “bad stuff” it portrays. They also make an extremely accurate depiction of (some) American culture, unlike anything you’ll ever see in a movie or TV show
Something like this I noticed in the trailer was that "it cures emotions" billboard. Was quite funny, but also depressing; I've heard many among the youth (particularly Gen Z) in the west are said to be under some sort of antidepressant, not because they want to solve the causes of their depression but because they merely have depression. The face on the billboard of the pill being 'cured' hits that nail hard in the head...

Honestly another reason why I like Michael, he’s a man of the people. I’m looking forward to GTA 6. And Michael, most games nowadays look so realistic. Nothing wrong with liking games like GTA, it’s a fun escape from reality and dare I say it’s a sort of a guilty pleasure. Plus he makes me think about things, like Miley Cyrus’s new song… and also the Barbie Movie.
I can kind of see what he means that he won't play it, though. A game like this, you can't really play in front of your children and so many people simply won't have the time or opportunity to play it.

Rockstar has been leaning into giving players the choice of being virtuous or evil. Look at Red Dead Redemption 2. The thing about it is that they design it so that it's harder to be good but it's more rewarding, just like in real life. I wouldn't put it past them that players can choose to be evil and degenerate but they can also be virtuous and good.

However... I'd be lying if I wasn't more excited about Red Dead Redemption 3. Even though Red Dead Redemption 3 is probably 10 years from coming out.
No other game has immersed me more that Red Dead Redemption 2. The environment, the nature, the story and the feeling of living in 1899.
Yeah this is impressive, amd we'll have to see what it brings, but that dark story with a redemptive nature that Knowles talks about is exactly what rdr2 is.

The online version and servers with hundreds of other real ppl interacting, talking, role playing their character/role (cops/medics/gangsters/drug dealers/cars salesmen, jailers, judges etc) in the server is where the game really stands out and above the rest. It's like a virtual living and breathing world.
So it's like modern reality world world of warcraft
I am a 48 year old woman, and I get a kick from Grand Theft Auto V- which I have - because it is so outrageous.
I had some experience with voice acting and gotta say I just hope the acting in this one is as good as it was in the past. The third game had some amazing cast, really captured the vibes of the Sopranos or Goodfellas. Not to mention the late Ray Liotta or the rapper who voiced CJ: they basically stole the show.
Ps. You almost saw me as Leon in these new Resident Evil games :)

Play it. The last game Rockstar did (Red Dead Redemption 2) had an astonishingly complex, deep, thought provoking and emotional story. It was better written and acted than basically anything on TV and in Film at the moment.
I’ve done more playthroughs of RDR2 than GTA V. The story is incredible and there are so many legitimately emotional moments for me. One day we will get RDR3 and I’m sure it’ll be even better than GTA VI will be. And I’m insanely excited about GTA lol 😂

Maybe it will be full of propaganda, but as far as I can tell, it still looks like Grand Theft Auto. Which has for a long time been pretty good at poking fun at all aspects of American Culture.
@@Iamthewillrose Look I try to follow patterns... it's just what happens to all media. It becomes compromised/bought out and the old concept is destroyed. Men should be focused on building strong relationships and families anyway, not spending time playing video games which like Michael mentions is meant to dull your senses. Not saying you can't play at all but this is the type of game that will eat up a lot of hours in life. Too big, too expansive and too 'realistic.' To me it doesn't matter if it is poking fun at anything if it is also engaging in and contributing to it.
Also If you are a masculine male (i.e. you are a normal person and attracted to females) and If you also want to live a virtuous life then you should not be playing this game. Since you are within a virtual world where at any moment some skank npc can come along and start shaking her posterior and you can be tempted and then lapse into committing a mortal sin, by putting yourself in that situation is one step too far already.
I'm curious as to what Michael would think about Red Dead Redemption 2. It has a lot more depth and an amazing narrative, along with Rockstar's high level graphics quality.
