when I was learning to drive my dad made me nervous and would shout when I was doing something stupid to make me stop but would in turn make me panic. A couple years ago I learned appreciation for his teaching methods because I was turning onto a busy street at night as this moron in dark clothing was j walking about 25 yards away fromt he crosswalk. It scared about 10 years out of my life span but I did not hit him with a 6400 pound truck at 35mph. I told my dad I had new appreciation for his methods because if I wasn't paying attention that guy would've been a pink stain on the road

For me comedy has zero limits, thats because comedy is always a “what if” and should never be seen as a person true opinion. Some jokes though can be seen a very disgusting etc etc, i really depends on the person. If someone would say this in a public podcast the police would be called asap. But a comedian is always a act, and very crude humor can be very subjective. The father should have boo’ed and walked out. The big issue is the act will go on and that father can get a nice report on him.

Little kids do know about shame and right and wrong. I know this because there is a home video of me at age 1. I steal a lemon from the fruit bowl and put it in my mouth. I don't agree… meritocracy is better. Hold auditions and cast whomever is best for the role. Who your parents are should be irrelevant. The fact of who your parents are may give you a leg up by giving you the best chance at being good at acting due to familiarity and early exposure, but your actual merit should be the deciding factor, not your familial attachments.

It CAN be a sign of despair, or it (more likely, IMO) can be a sign of avoidance of responsibility and accountable, classic selfish immaturity...which is commonly an indicator of weak parenting. Parents that did not require that a child take on the age-appropriate values, tasks and responsibilities as they were developing, rewarding with success.
