I wonder who goes harder, Latin Americans or Germans. We attended my little cousins baptism before, and they had 2 pallets of beer (so probably around 200 or so cases) and it was all gone in like 12 or so hours. They were getting more beer when we left early since my dad was extremely drunk. We arrived there at like 1 or 2 PM and left there at around 6 AM the next day and the party was still going. Also Peru has some notable party towns where it apparently isn’t uncommon to see people wake up the following afternoon face first in mud.

Actually, the bride and groom doesn't even wear their actual wedding attires for the pre-wedding photoshoots. Usually it's always themed and they wear other outfits that they want to have in the pre-wed album (which is also shown on the day of the wedding during the time when guests comes in). So it's not bad luck at all 🤷‍♀️

Pre-taken photos allows the couple to present the picture on the large screen for other to see, as well as the best picture will be put at the gate so 1) if the wedding avenue has another wedding, people won't get lost (when arriving or to get back from the toilet while drunk af) 2) if the wedding is hosted at home, random people go by that road can see it too. The photos/clips that taken in the wedding will be shared to those in the photos, because people won't care about somebody's wedding photos (maybe only the couple parents), but everyone like a photo where they all doll up and having fun.

Then, you also have the photos taken on the day of the wedding but those are not placed in the album on the wedding day, they are given to the bride and groom afterwards (after photoshop and printing) for their use. Past generations and other cultures considered living together or an engagement already being married. For others, breaking an engagement (being promised) would be a huge financial and social blow to the entire family. Some cultures have arranged marriages. So the commitment is already made. In Indonesia, there are two types of wedding:
    1. come, put money/gift, eat buffet (standing/sit in long rows), go home
    2. come, give money/gift, everyone is seated according to the table numbers/fine dining, watch live performances while eating, 3-4 hours max.

No Romanian wedding can take place without a lot of food, like starters, then roast meats, then stuffed cabbage leaves, then the cake, lots and lots of dancing, weird customs etc . But I did attend once the most boring wedding ever, good it did not last long...

People going to a Vietnamese wedding only care about the meal, drop off the money and bounce. Some people don't even know who is getting married sometimes. I like the fact that lots of people are there but hate that most of them couldn't care less about the married couple and are just there to fulfill their obligation (give back the cash).

It's pretty common in Poland as well. Regular wedding in Poland is between 10-14 hours. Sometimes weddings last two days. On the one hand, it is a tribute to guests who come from very far away, and on the other, it is a reference to the tradition of several-day weddings dating back to the Middle Ages.

No, most german weddings I have been to started in the late morning and went on and on and on... 😅
10 a.m.: You belong to the bridal party: meet bride or groom/ get ready/drive to...
12 a.m.: ...the civil status office (and/or church if you are religious. Most people who are split the wedding into two. One big party and a small one depending on which ceremony is more important to you)
1 p.m.: Go to the wedding party location. congratulations 🎉 champagne 🥂 and snacks
      2 p.m.: wedding photo time
      3 - 4 p.m.: "Kaffe and Kuchen" / coffee and cake
5 - 7: afternoon activities (depends on the wedding party. Maybe the bride gets kidnapped and the groom has to search for her 😉
      7 p.m.: dinner / speeches etc
      9 p.m.: first dance / wedding party
      Midnight: midnight snacks, more cake
After midnight: Open end. Last guests will leave early in the morning 😁

Canadians 🇨🇦 must follow the German traditions! We start dinner at 6:00pm, and at midnight the grannies haul out the leftover food, desserts, coffee and tea. Dancing and partying continues until sunrise. We went to a wedding once in Pennsylvania and at 10:30pm the reception was over. We had no idea what to do as we had prepared to party another 6 hours. Going back to our hotel room felt very strange! Breakfast the next morning with the bride / groom and their families was also very strange. Where I come from you’re not even in bed at 5:30am. You’re certainly not getting up at 7:30 am for breakfast! 😅
